Strengths: Effectively Doubles the power output of the router you attach it to! It is completely compatible with WRT54G and any other Linksys Wireless G Access Point or Router
Weaknesses: NONE!
Summary: I purchased this amplifier in hopes that my WRT54G router's distance and signal strength would be adequate for my house (3 stories). It is in the uppermost corner of the residence, in the opposite end of the house from my recroom in the basement. I wanted my laptop to be able to surf the net from there. After installation, the signal strength was a consistent 2 bars higher in Windows XP on every system in my house! (Remember, I am using the Wireless 'G' Router). One thing I also noticed was when using a 3rd party firmware such as Sveasoft's on the WRT54G, you can increase the output power from the router, which in turn becomes amplified in this box. No matter what power you output from your router, this box is essentially a 2x amplifier... Currently, I am pushing an 84 power rating (default is 34), and the amplifier doubles it. Using a Network analyzer, my signal strength is -34 as compared to my neighbors -85, -83 signals. This is measured through 3 walls, on the other side of the house. I can take my laptop down the block about 5 houses and still get 3 out of 5 bars strength now... Just a tip ;)

Strengths: Increases the signal strength on a WRT54G.
Weaknesses: Costs a lot.
Summary: I've used this for about a year or longer now, on my WRT54G router. This unit is, in fact compatible with the WRT54G, and does make a difference. It was the difference between constantly dropping connections and now I have a stable high performance network. In fact it boosted the signal to a point where I get signal almost 1000' from the house. Due to some steel "I" beams and such being used as structural members, I had quite a few dark spots on the lower floor, and this seemed to power the signal enough to over come the instabilities. If your serious about wireless, this product is worth it.

Strengths: Increases signal dramatically
Weaknesses: Not compatible with wireless G
Summary: My signal was in and out across the length of my home. It worked, but occasionally would go out. I added this booster (keeping the receipt in hand because I doubted it would work). I was pleasantly surprised. It's taken care of the problem without having to move hardware or run any wire.

Strengths: Significant signal boost!!
Weaknesses: Not compatible with 802.11g router.
Summary: I have a three story home and had difficulty getting a signal throughout the house. I added this signal booster to my network and now I get an "Excellent Signal" throughout the house! Many thanks to Linksys for this excellent performing product. It does its job very well!

Strengths: 1. Operated as advertised 2. Increased power output 3. Good value for the money
Weaknesses: 1. None
Summary: I have had a wireless network of linksys products in my home for a few years now. Their products always seem to work very well. I have wireless working across the home through 2 floors and many walls. The signal that I was getting worked, but was usually in the fair to good range. I installed a WSB24 booster (which took all of 5 minutes to do) and now the signal in the extreme reaches of the house are consistently in the very good range. I should have bought this puppy sooner.

Strengths: A great product that enhances your signal for your wireless network.
Weaknesses: None at all.
Summary: I have my cable modem placed in the downstairs office and use to only get a 20%-30% signal in my kitchen but with the booster, I know get a 70% signal in that room. While the price is a bit high, it is a wonderful product that I would buy again at a moment's notice.

Strengths: Provides significant increase in wireless LAN signal strength; easy to install; matches LinkSys wireless router nicely!
Weaknesses: None, other than price, perhaps.
Summary: This LinkSys Wireless Signal Booster really does increase signal strength significantly. We have a large multi-level house with attached 3-car garage, and had only fair signal strength up in the kids' bedrooms, and no connection out in the garage, before hooking up the Wireless Signal Booster. After installation, we have Excellent signal strength throughout the house and Good signal strength out in the garage, although the very farthest corner of the garage only has Marginal signal strength.

2 Star ReviewI got the Linksys Wireless Router a few months ago ...
Strengths: Provides about 5-15% increase in signal and link strength.
Weaknesses: Does not provide enough signal strength to justify the cost. Expensive and not effective.
Summary: I got the Linksys Wireless Router a few months ago and the signal strength in my house was not great. So, I went to Radio Shack and got the $30 pair of 5dB Antennas, this increased signal strength by 50%! For added insurance, I also go this Booster device, but it only added about 5-15% strength, which is very disappointing since it costs about $100 at certain places. If I had to do it all over again, I would get an SMC Wireless Router and a 6dB or stronger Antenna from a third-party antenna maker.

Strengths: Easy Install, no software or other changes needed, just plug and play.
Weaknesses: None
Summary: Not sure why Linksys did not incorporate this signal booster into their original design. Other Wireless designs do have the proper signal strength to cover a normal size house adequately. I went originally with Linksys when setting up my home network because of their reputation. Their wireless products work as advertised but the signal strength in my 2 level house was marginal at best upstairs. I would get good to fair on the indicator and my kids had to move their USB devices to try and find the "sweet spot" in the house where they could pick up the best signal. Now with the Signal Booster that problem has been eliminated. I hooked it up this evening and now see an "excellent" indication on the USB devices which should definitely make a difference in the transmission and quality of the data. No more retransmissions.

If you already have a Linksys WAP or Wireless Router, this is the augment you will need and if you live in a large home or just want the extra range to sit outside and sip a drink while you surf the net, this is the product to go with.
