Strengths: 1 TB for a decent price
Weaknesses: None yet.
Summary: Got this on sale from best buy, since I needed to replace my current drive. Quick and easy to install, no problems as of yet. Also, there is a jumper that needs to be removed to get the full 3 gb/s speed, so don't forget to do that, especially if your bad about not reading the instructions like I am.

Strengths: Fast

Summary: 2008-09-24 10:45:01 I got this drive because I needed more storage in my HTPC. This drive has been great. It lives up to its 7200rpm spec, the SATA connection really helps. Despite being 7200rpms, this drive is very quiet. It's even more quiet than my 5400rpm WD 750gb hard drive. I recommend this drive and brand over any other.

Strengths: Large capacity, fast access, quiet and reasonably priced.
Weaknesses: Slight lag
Summary: This drive has enough room to store all my digital photos, home movies and MP3s that I have accumulated. This large capacity drive saved a lot of physical space that these files used to occupy.
Inspite of its large size, access time is fast, once it gets started. As my drive gets fuller and fuller, I do notice a slight lag when it needs to wake up from the parked state, but it is not that long a pause that is intolerable.
This Seagate 1T drive runs pretty quiet. Sitting right next to my Antec case where this drive is installed, I can barely hear it.
As far as I can feel, the drive doesn't generate excess heat to alter the internal case temperature.
The price per gigabyte ratio of this drive has finally gone below the 20 cents mark which makes it affordable for the average home users.

Strengths: good drive, 5 yr warranty from Seagate, 32MB cache.
Weaknesses: none out of the ordinary.
Summary: The drive performs as most other drives do. As the drives capacity is quite large, I do notice some latency on accessing the drive when it's close to full. This is an issue that will occur on other drives that have similar specifications. Overall the drive is good and I would recommend buying it and will buy more of the same.

Strengths: Fast, quiet, loads of space
Weaknesses: none
Summary: I got this drive for a pretty good deal. I installed this into my HTPC. Its 1TB of space reads as 935gb under Windows Vista. This drive is quiet for its speed, 7200rpm with 3.0gb transfer rate.

Strengths: It's fast & very quiet. Lots of storage space!!
Weaknesses: Runs a little hot
Summary: Great performing drive. I'm using it to create a custom NAS and having one HD that uses less power than two 500GB drives is great. I would buy this one again when I set up RAID in the future.

Strengths: Fast, quiet, reliable brand. The Seagate 5-year warranty!
Weaknesses: Should have bought another one.
Summary: Hard drive comes with all necessary accessories - SATA cable, power adapter, and screws. Bought the drive at Best Buy for $190. The drive is quiet. The 5-year warranty and better than other brands that offer only 3-year. This hard drive gave me the maximum rating of 5.9 on the Vista experience index.

Summary: This drive has allowed me to move a bunch of less important stuff from my other drives and keep more space open. I have put quite a bit on this drive already, and it still is able to go quite fast. I am 100% happy with my purchase thus far! Excellent Buy!

Strengths: 1 TB of Storage!
Weaknesses: Reliability?
Summary: When I saw the price for this drive, I jumped on it right away. Sometimes I hate to have a drive be so large just incase it breaks, but I just try to keep less important stuff on it, and make sure to make a backup copy. So far, I love the extra space this drive has given me, and has allowed me to clear up others drives to speed up my PC. Great Buy!

Strengths: 5yr warranty, quiet, 32mb buffer
Weaknesses: price
Summary: Seagate's 5-year warranty was a no-brainer for me. It was the deciding factor amongst other brands in this storage size. After formatting, the actual size of the drive came out to be 931gb. The 32mb buffer is great, but not a noticeable feature to me. Aside from that, the drive is quiet and fast. Would definitely recommend this drive for storage purposes.
