Very Small Controller
Strengths: Wireless
Weaknesses: No Rumble, Compressed Face Buttons
Summary: With PS2 accessory choices falling off, I picked this up as a wireless controller for the PS2. Unfortunately this controller is a little bit to small for me to play action heavy games, as the face buttons (Triangle, X, O, and Square) are all fairly close together, leading to inadvertent button presses in games like Tekken and Gran Turismo. Also the analog stick placement is poor with little space between them leading to games like Katamari Demacy being more frustrating than fun.
The lack of rumble in the controller is another disappointment. While most wireless controllers kept the rumble out, it is becoming more and more common to wireless controllers.
To be positive about the controller, it excels in 2 areas. The first being use in turn based RPG games. Navigation is a breeze and single button presses are manageable. The second, and by far the single reason I keep this controller available, is that it is great for the navigation of menus for the system's Karaoke titles (Karaoke Revolution and SingStar series). It's very nice to be untethered and navigate the menus, especially with 2 cords already connected to the console, in what usually is a party environment.
By far this controller is not the best for the system, but it does a few things really well. I wouldn't suggest to run out and purchase, but if it turns up, you have a use for it (RPG or Karaoke Players take note), and the price is right, it can be worth wild.
