Strengths: Quick, Lightweight, Inexpensive, Versatile, DVD burner
Weaknesses: Relatively short battery life Built-in speakers are weak
Summary: I have been pleasantly surprised by this laptop. I have had no problems whatsoever with it, and have enjoyed it's performance. I have used it for word processing, internet, DVD's and even video editing. It boots up very quickly and runs the sometimes slow internet explorer very quickly. The built in wireless has been great as well as the touchpad which has performed better than any previous laptop I've owned. When I first purchased the item it wasn't clear to me if the maximum RAM was 2 GB total or per memory slot. The HP adviser software told me that the system would support up to 4 GB, so I bought a 2 GB stick and put it in and it worked perfectly and the computer recognized all of it.

As far as the weaknesses, the battery seems to last slightly over 2 hours which is disappointing. The built in speakers are ok, but not optimal for watching DVD's with any ambient noise around. I would have liked a built in firewire port, but I can get an adapter for the PCMCIA slot if I need to.

Overall, I think this is a great buy. I got it new for far cheaper than other laptops with the same specifications and seem to have gotten a bargain. I thought I was getting this for word processing and internet but it can definitely handle more than that, and I would certainly recommend this product.

Strengths: Very light and thin. Nice appearance. Fast Core Duo 2 CPU and excellent wireless connection. I detected over 10 networks in my area. User friendly in the beginning of the setup process.
Weaknesses: Battery only last about 2 to 2.2 hours with medium usage. A lower end integrated graphic card. Exterior surface can easily get scratch, there are no sd card slot, memory slot
Summary: 2008-05-21 19:27:26 Overall this notebook is excellent for everyone except for gamers. Don't need to spend too much compare to other notebooks that cost over $800 and have the necessary functions and ports to get the job done. I have been using for straight 6 days, charging the battery for 5 times now with no problems occur. Great buy.
