Strengths: HD Radio reception is clear as CDs, switches between HD and FM automatically and seemlessly, easy to install, and relatively cheap.
Weaknesses: Interface on the Kenwood side could be improved. Reception is spotty in Los Angeles.
Summary: I was skeptical about HD Radio, but with the current rebate it was worth trying out at least. I live in Los Angeles and according to the HD radio website, LA is supposed to have pretty dense coverage. However, it's a little spotty and unlike analog radio, when there's no reception then you hear nothing. Luckily, this HD radio automatically switches to analog when the HD signal is weak, and when it switches between the two signals it's seemless. That feature is quite impressive. My biggest complaint is the interface on the Kenwood receiver, it's a little confusing, and the RDS data doesn't always refresh. Hopefully this will be resolved with some firmware updates. Overall, I would say it's worth purchasing but it's not yet perfect.

Strengths: Integrates well with HD Ready Kenwood receivers
Weaknesses: Pricey
Summary: I got this to be able to receive HD radio stations with my DDX812 In-Dash Player. Very simply, just plug into the back of the In-Dash unit and presto, you are able to tune into HD stations in your area. There isn't really much to say about this tuner other than it is pricey at over $100. The $50 rebate helps out but still is a pricey addon. On the plus side, the sound from the HD stations in my area are of high quality and being able to see exactly what's currently playing using the information transmitted from the station onto the In-Dash Info screen is a nice feature. Will be even better as more and more stations start transmitting HD Radio.
