Strengths: 16.7M colors (8-bit TN panel with no dithering), both DVI & Analog AND comes with BOTH cables, large, HDCP support, 3 year warranty
Weaknesses: Poor stand with no height adjustment, as with just about all LCDs it needs quite a bit of calibration to get it looking right as well as it really only looks crisp & clear with the native resolution!
Summary: Acer has made yet another large screen LCD monitor that is both affordable and of good quality with the X223WBD! Do I consider this "One of the Best?" ... well no, not if we're just talking about the best 22" LCD at any price, but for the price range ($180-$210) I do consider this a candidate for being right there as one of the best with any other quality 22" LCD!

This monitor supports a full 16.7M colors with its 8-bit TN LCD panel, and when properly calibrated (YES, ALL LCD panels should be properly adjusted and calibrated before you can really tell if they make the grade!) it looks fantastic, so don't just plug it in and be underwhelmed by what you see right out of the box! Another tip, don't be fooled by other monitors in the same price range/size only offering 16.2M or stated as "More than 16M" colors in their specs ... those are 6-bit LCD panels which must use dithering effects to achieve the 16.2M colors they supposedly offer, while this one does it without using eye-tricks (color dithering) to achieve all 16.7M colors! That is important to people that want the best color and clearest picture with what ever they do, and especially for those that might want to do some more serious picture editing!

Though analog has been long gone in my household, it's still nice that they have an analog output for those times when you need it ... and even better that this monitor actually supplies BOTH cables for your convenience which quite a few other monitor packages don't ... way to go Acer!

The stand is quite ... well, quite under average in my opinion. Fortunately for me it didn't matter that much, as all I need is for it to hold the monitor up, and it does that for me! It does tilt (very little) enough for me, but has no height adjustment.

The picture once calibrated, and of course using the native 1680x1050 resolution, is VERY good for such an inexpensive 22" LCD monitor. Really, unless you get one of these with quite a few dead/stuck pixels, or you just don't take the time to properly calibrate it, it should be a great addition to anyone's system!

I highly recommend this monitor for those looking for something a little bigger and for the current $180-$210 price range!

Strengths: Works Well; Has Both VGA and DVI-D Connections
Weaknesses: Factory Default Settings Need to be Adjusted (Too Bright); Cannot Easily Change Signal Source with a Single Button
Summary: This LCD has more screen space than my previous 19" LCD. As with my other Acer LCD, this one also is too bright at the Default Factory Settings, so it needs to be adjusted manually. My previous LCD had a single button to change the signal source between VGA and DVI, but this monitor does not have a single Source button. Instead, I have to go to the Menu and manually find the Connection Source Setting to change it. However, this is a very good monitor because it works well, so I can recommend this Acer X223Wbd Black 22" LCD.

Strengths: Price, no dead pixels, DVI plus cables, size
Weaknesses: stand, viewing angle, light bleed
Summary: This is adequate general purpose monitor. It is a TN panel so viewing angles and light bleed are expected. The monitor is better than most TN panels and the picture quality can be improved with settings. The size is very good for work and web browsing because two windows can be set side by side on monitor and icons are not too small at native setting.

Strengths: Good price for the size. Easy setup - didn't need to do anything but plug in and select display resolution. 3 year warranty
Weaknesses: Initial color tuning seemed off.
Summary: I've only used the monitor for a few days, but it seems like a solid display with reasonable quality. No dead pixels or any other apparent issues. The price and the warranty were what sold me.

2 Star ReviewAcer 22 LCD
Strengths: Affordable Price
Weaknesses: Washed off color, and 3 Stucked pixel
Summary: Since the price was about $160, I went ahead and purchased it. However, when I finally got it, the color was totally washed off, and there was 3 stucked pixels in the middle. I tried to fix it through massaging it, however, it did not work. Now, I am using Envision 22 inch, it looks much better and no dead pixels.
