Strengths: Call range and clarity.
Weaknesses: Wall mounting base less than optimal.
Summary: We've been using Panasonic cordless phones since they first cut the cord, and they just keep improving. This one fixes an annoyance we found with our last one, the KX-TG5632 -- it has a shared phonebook, so we didn't have to re-enter numbers on both phones, since they access the same list. Much better! Call performance, as usual, is fine -- clear call quality with very good range from the base. The antenna nub on the handset is gone, too, so it has a smoother, more streamlined look (although we do miss the color-coded flashing collar the old one had). Another improvement is Ni-Cd batteries have been replaced with Ni-MH, so you don't have to worry about the memory effect reducing the amount of time the handset will work between charges. The only thing the seems to be a step in the wrong direction is the wall mounting option -- the base of our old phone could be mounted vertically, but this one can only be mounted horizontally, since the phone has to stand up in the base. This can be a problem for anyone trying to check the answering machine who's not very tall, since you have to look down on the base to see the controls. Not very ergonomic for those of short stature. That quibble aside, I'm happy -- improved functionality and it cost less than my last one!
