Strengths: Solid model. Cooperative tech support. Comes with Operating System CD. Fast. Has both CD-ROM and Floppy without swapping them out!
Weaknesses: PCMCIA slot was broken when computer shipped. Default setup was inadequate, needed to reinstall operating system. No COM serial port.
Summary: I've had a good experience with the computer. It shipped with a broken PCMCIA slot, and the company offered to replace the computer immediately, but I declined because I had already been using the computer and did not really need that slot. I have had no other problems with the hardware.
The computer came installed with a lot of junk software, so I just erased it using the conveniently included Operating System CD. This went very smoothly and I found the computer ran blazingly fast after the clean install--anyone buying this model should do the same!
The screen is excellent quality, and is big without the laptop itself being too big. The laptop is not a super-light model, but it's also not too heavy either.
My only one major criticism of this model is that it lacks a COM serial port, which I need to use on occasion, but most home users would not need this.
The best thing about this model is that it includes both a built-in CD as well as a floppy--being able to use both without having to swap out devices is really a great thing.
Overall this was a good buy and I would buy it again.
