Strengths: Large screen and keyboard (great for desktop replacement), powerful system (just see the specs). Integrated memory stick slot...great those who own other Sony products which utilize memory stick.
Weaknesses: No integrated/included floppy drive (additional $80) or 802.11b (can add PCMCIA card as a workaround though). Only lasts about 3hrs on battery power.
Summary: I absolutely love this laptop! This is the first laptop I've owned and bought it as a desktop replacement...currently in the military and didn't want to take my desktop overseas. The first thing one will notice about it is the size. The unit is rather large and a bit heavy, at least if you're planning on traveling a lot. So if you're a business-type, you might want to consider this. But with that size, you get a large, 16.1 inch screen and a keyboard that is almost regular size, if not exactly like a regular keyboard. It's kind of hard for me to tell but I have large hands and have no trouble finding the keys on this laptop, unlike the hunting and pecking I have to do on our smaller one at work. The integrated DVD drive/burner is great as well. It's great to be able to watch movies on that nice big screen. The audio is a bit lacking, but it is a laptop afterall and they aren't exactly known for particularly great sound. I'd say it'a about typical for this type of computer and shouldn't be something to deter people from buying it. The only thing it doesn't do equal to or better than my desktop is games...purely a limitation of the graphics and sound cards on the laptop compared to my other PC, but this is a fairly trivial complaint. Even those programs still run and look decent on the GRX670. I would have no problems recommending this laptop to anyone and encourage anyone with questions about it to head to their local store and give it a good look.
