Strengths: Great picture quality, sleek look. Swivels on base...a great plus.
Weaknesses: Haven't found one yet
Summary: This TV looks so nice in our family room, very sleek and the 58" size is large enough to see from any part of the room. Picture quality is great. HD features are so nice. We weren't sure of plasma vs LCD, but have been very happy with the plasma so far.

Strengths: Very sharp, clear picture & great color, even in a sunny room.
Weaknesses: None so far.
Summary: On-screen menu was easy to use. Love the sharp picture. Also think the sound quality is very good, especially enjoy listening to the music channels on tv. We're very happy with this tv.

Samsung PN58A550 58" Plasma TV
Strengths: Excellent picture & lots of different connectivity.
Weaknesses: Broke in less than 3 months.
Summary: Had to wait over 6 weeks from reporting fault to repair. Also had to keep constantly following up with Samsung as they did not seem too interested with post purchase customer service.

Strengths: Quality in relation to size
Weaknesses: Sound is weak and hard to balance with Blu-Ray. STB sound is fine.
Summary: I had the Samsung 52" LCD in my cart before I decided on the Plasma. I have a Samsung 46" LCD and really love the strengths of LCD but I wanted something bigger than 52 for the living room and didn't want to pay $6000 for a large LCD. Read up on all the strengths/weaknesses between LCD and Plasma (again) and decided to take a change on this TV. I have to admit I'm quite pleased. Although you don't have quite the sharpness with LCD the blacks are way better and there's no ghosting. PS3 games look great as well. Only downside is the sound. I don't have this hooked up to my receiver and speakers yet but I would say this is a must for HD movies.

Strengths: everything
Weaknesses: its heavy
Summary: 1 million:1 dynamic contrast ratio and it shows!! I was watching a space shuttle launch(on the tv) and the flames from the rocket made my eyes burn like I was there! I cant say enough for the quality of picture. If ur like me and have been waiting on the perfect TV for a great price then buy this TV!! As with any tv, watching an HD signal is much better than non but even the reg signal is good. I had a big 1080i tv before this one and theres no comparision. Its like going to another level of HD! i have tons of sunlight and its no issue as with some plasmas.

PN58A550 58" Plasma TV
Strengths: Style, Menu, HDMI, USB, etc
Weaknesses: Good TV - Bad SAMSUNG Customer Service
Summary: About 2 months since we bought it, we were having problems with the screen where images would overlap each other (not to be confused with Screen Burns). A technician (not from SAMSUNG by the way - because they told us that we'd have to pay $$$ if issue was not covered by warranty. No big deal! It's just that we paid more than 4K for this product only for it to break in less than 2 months!) The point is, why charge us that much when it breaks in less than 2 months and for the CS to tell us that there's nothing they can do but wait at least another 30days for the part to come in! Before you buy this - read the warranty - so you'll be prepared to be slapped on the face when this product breaks on you in less than a year! To them, we're just $$$ signs!

Strengths: Size, picture quality and price were the driving factors. Glad I made the purchase
Weaknesses: None so far
Summary: Purchased at CC and got a good deal. Need to order the Samsung Blu-Ray. Personalizing your picture is easy.
The detail is so vivid and clear I would highly recommend this TV.

Strengths: Great picture, especially with HDTV broadcasts
Weaknesses: Anti-burn in settings in owners manual not factory preset... must set separately for each component
Summary: Priced this TV in Birmingham, AL. Lowest price was HHGregg for 2950 plus 9 percent tax. To be honest, BuyDig.com scared me to death given the warranty issues raised on this forum. Savings were too big to ignore, however--$2508 delivered! What a great TV! My wife and I easily got the TV into place without the high dollar delivery service (no stairs, though). The drop sensor on the box was not set and the TV was fine, so it made the trip well. We plugged it in and all is well. Now, I am waiting to see if we have any issues. Be sure to read the delivery instructions and set up the burn in protection in accordance with the owners manual. The recommended setting were not set out of the box, and the anti-burn in mode must be set separately for each component. Burn in IS NOT covered by warranty.
