Strengths: Automatic water level, low water use, relatively quiet when not using high speed spin. Versatile wash settings.
Weaknesses: Expensive
Summary: I have used my GHW9400P for over a year now and am delighted with it. It does an excellent job of cleaning all of our laundry, from whites to hand washable wool. It has a wide array of automatic wash settings. You can also control water temperature and spin speeds manually. Water is expensive in San Francisco and our water bill went down immediately. This machine is frugal. I love the automatic water level feature. Sensors detect the size of the load and adjust water appropriately. No guess work. The detergent, bleach, and softener dispensers work flawlessly. The machine is relatively quiet except when the high speed spin is selected. Be certain to have it absolutely level. I recommend the optional base as well. It provides useful storage and elevates the washer for easier access.
