 MEW6627 double convection wall oven Strengths: nice color
Weaknesses: incredibly noisy cooling fan emits high pitched whine and drowns out conversation. can be heard several rooms away
Summary: This problem has been noted by others in the past. The cooling fan emits a loud and irritating noise continuously from turning the oven on until as much as 30 minutes after turning it off. Four trips by repairmen have failed to fix this ( although to be fair, on three occasions despite promising two repairmen, they sent only one person and it takes two to lift the oven.) the one time two repairmen came, they replaced the fan with a louder one. Now the most recent repairman says that the problem is just our sensitive hearing! We can never speak to the same person twice or even to someone who acknowledges that the previous people were Maytag employees. The repairmen are surly and unhelpful and we cannot use the oven when anyone is in the house. It is louder than a cheap microwave- and no one would run a microwave for 2-3 hours at a time. Don't buy this product, or expect the helpful Maytag repairman you see on TV.
