When just after the installation, I was impressed ...
Strengths: easy installation
Weaknesses: Poor quality control. A/V loss sync
Summary: When just after the installation, I was impressed by its easier installation and rich features (time shift was really neat). However, after I started to use it, I found
1) poor quality control - the remote wasn't working at first.
2) audio and video lost sync immediately when setting video resolution to "high".
3) some time the picture will be cut off (like zoom in effect w/o my control) after couple of "record/stop" actions.
Since I am just living in Fremont that a few blocks away from Leadtek's customer support facility, I got chance to go Leadtek's office to get a new remote control after I made a customer support call. Tried out the new remote, it still didn't work. Then I went to office again to replace the TV card. Finally the remote worked, but the FM antenna adapt on this new card didn't match the antenna I got from the retail box. So I had come back to office again to get anther antenna. This time, everything seams functional. But when I touch the cable which connected to the card, I found some channel get bad signal.
So finally, I gave up and sent it back to the retail.
In the experience of testing out two cards, A/V out of sync was always the problem even though I loaded the most recently version of software (drive and application), and my PC (1.7 GHz Pentium IV with 1 GB RAM) was powerful enough. Of course this problem went away when in lower video resolution.
I believe this card is not ready to mainstream customer. Leadteck should not sell it in this stage.
