Strengths: Small size, Low price, Nice quality photos, very versatile
Weaknesses: Display screen smudges too easily. Of course most cameras do.
Summary: I have seen several good, and bad reviews on this camera. Now, I'm no expert photographer, but I do like to take unique, and nicely set pictures, especially on the fly. Now I think these people giving it bad reviews are maybe expert photographers who are used to the very latest super digital cameras with extremely high mega-pixels, or they just don't know how to use a camera. I still have an older Nikon Coolpix 4600 that has 4.0 mega-pixels, and it can take some very nice shots that impress many people. This newer S210 has twice the mega-pixels, (8.0), and much faster recharge rate on the flash. It also doesn't go through batteries so fast like the older one.
Bottom line: If you want to take some nice pictures, and even nice movies, this is a great camera. But please, like any other device, read the manual, experiment around with it, maybe take a digital camera class, just learn how to use all the features, and you won't be disappointed. I just wanted a nice camera, with good quality pictures, good battery life, and very compact design at a nice price. This was my choice. I didn't even know it could record movies with sound, until I got it home and started playing around with it. Still cooler is that it can take time lapsed pictures, and time lapsed movies.
