1 Star ReviewAVOID. Get The XRS9745 Instead.
Strengths: None.
Weaknesses: Way too sensitive on the Ka band.
Summary: I purchased an XRS9740 to replace an XRS9700 that was stolen. I was expecting the same performance as the XRS9700, just with added capability. From day one I experienced excessive Ka alerts. The alerts seemed to be fairly well correlated with my proximity to DOT cameras, which happen to be everywhere where I live. The excessive alerts rendered the XRS9740 useless. I contacted Cobra, and they sent me a replacement unit. It performed even worse than the original. I got Ka-5 alerts just sitting in my driveway. Cobra ended up sending me an XRS9745 to replace my XRS9740. The XRS9745 works great. I am glad Cobra was willing to work with me (thanks). In short, avoid the XRS9740 and get the XRS9745 instead.
