Strengths: sturdy feel, quiet, runs cool
Weaknesses: made in china (but what products aren't nowadays), large
Summary: This psu has been used in p2 300mhz dell computer, p4 2ghz and it works as it should. This should be overkill for average pc users, but I'm using this for futureproofing on a quad processor pc to be built soon. 1000 watts does not mean it uses more power than any psu's with less wattage rating, but it means it can handle up to 1000 watts. I found the size to be about 9.5" by 6" by 3.5" taking into account the cable room needed at the exit of the psu. This is larger than the usual psu so make sure it fits. There is only one large fan, it does not have any lights or sorts.

Strengths: Extremely Stable, Relatively Efficient, Modular, 8-Pin PCIe
Weaknesses: Price, Somewhat Large
Summary: As usual with Corsair, this 1000W Power Supply is very robust and reliable. This is my second Corsair power supply and it is just great. Does all you can expect from a PS, and does it well. Modular cables and 8-pin PCIe make it ready for the new cards coming out. Even though it is pretty pricey, it can be worth it if you are looking for reliability.

Strengths: Plenty of amps (80) , plug-ins and cables , nice finish , 5yr warranty with Corsair name and reputation .
Weaknesses: none .
Summary: 2008-08-16 16:00:42 I wanted abit more power and future proofing for my Quad/Sli rig . Although my past Antec NeoHE 550 was fine (almost 3yrs old) , I was pushing it to the limit with my current setup . I definitly wanted a modular psu again but with more connections with room to grow for future upgrading ; hence the 1000hx fit the bill perfectly . Plenty of everything with this psu , with much more features than others in its class ; and done with quality and quite . Plently of amps even for tri-Sli , including 6 x 6+2Pin PCI-E connectors (which is somewhat rare on most 1000 watt psu). Nice to know I wont have to change or upgrade my psu for a looong time to come . Basicly , if you need to upgrade your current psu , then look no further .
