Strengths: Price, design, picture quality, ease of setup
Weaknesses: Remote control, speakers
Summary: I have been thrilled with this purchase. I bought the N2750 to serve as the monitor for my Media Center computer as well as to act as a traditional TV. Before I made the purchase, however, I researched the TVs in my price range and screen size for at least a month. When I first took a look at the N2750, I found it online for about $880 (including shipping), but I didn't buy it at that price because I didn't feel comfortable with the product yet. After having done all my research, I came back to the N2750, but the price had increased...then it increased again. It is now selling for a couple hundred dollars more than that original price, but it is still the best value on the market. Not only does it provide crystal clear images from my computer though its VGA input, but the HD signal coming through the DVI input is amazing. Plus, the sleek black design is about the stylish TV on the market. Again, the picture quality is very good, but it is not equivalent to a $4K plasma. But then again, you're only paying $1K for the N2750.

My only complaints are the speakers and the remote control. The speakers are nice in that they aren't the bulky detachable kind you put on the sides of the TV, but the sound quality could be a little better. I run this TV through a receiver and my computer. So, it's not an issue for me. Also, the remote control is a little too basic. It can only control the TV and has no backlight. For me, I will be buying the Logitech remote built for the Media Center. So, again this isn't an issue for me.

In summary, if you are looking for a great value, this is the TV for you. I would gladly make this purchase again.

Strengths: Good picture quality from both HD and standard definition sources. Speaker tonal quality is above par for an LCD TV.
Weaknesses: Remote is horrible, I received mine with one button not functioning.
Summary: I really like this LCD TV, I have it mounted on the wall, incorporated in a small home theater system in my bedroom. The picture quality is pretty good, I view it from about 11 feet away. Viewsonic had an excellent idea of placing the speakers underneath the TV (I don't particularly like other models with side mounted speakers), this gives it a better look when it is mounted on a wall near in-wall speakers - it looks just like a TV monitor.

My biggest complaint is that the SLEEP function does not work with all the inputs. I have the video signal passing through my receiver and sent to the LCD TV via component video but under this input, the SLEEP function does not work, causing me to wake up at 2 a.m. looking for the remote to turn it off. Also, if you have a universal remote, make sure it's a learning one as there are no preset IR codes for Viewsonic TVs.

3 Star ReviewOverall satisfied, but there is space for improvements
Strengths: Lots of inputs, including DVI and VGA. Composite and component inputs are PAL-compatible. Design pleases the eye.
Weaknesses: No ZOOM feature; 4:3 signal can be viewed either with black zones on the sides, or stretched horizontally, no third option. Headphone jack is hard to reach. More in the comments below.
Summary: I bought this TV mostly to play DVD movies, which it does great with a progressive-scan DVD player. In fact, the picture is just as good with an interlaced signal, I think it's because it converts it into digital anyway. I have lots of European DVDs in PAL (576 lines), and those work too. Surprisingly PAL signal works on both component and composite input (may be even tuner is PAL compatible?).

The second most important feature for me is a computer input. With both DVI and VGA signal the picture is perfect when using the native 1280x720 resolution. Currently the TV is connected to my PC as a second monitor using a 25 ft VGA cable, and the picture is just as good! I use it to watch movies not compatible with my DVD player, it's great for photo slideshows too.

I don't have HDTV, just basic cable, so I use built-in TV tuner. Picture is good, one annoyance is a 2-sec silence everytime you switch a channel.

PIP gives a good picture, but also is slow when switching modes.

Some other annoyances:

- TV doesn't remember the ratio setting, everytime you turn it off it switches to 16:9. And as I already mentioned no ZOOM feature. Especially annoying when watching a widescreen movie by a regular TV broadcast: if you don't like distorted proportions, your only option is to watch it in the center of the screen with black zones all around it. Actually I didn't see a TV yet with a well designed zoom feature, looks like the industry just ignores this issue...

- Remote could be improved a lot in terms of ergonomics, ease of use and range.

P.S. I liked Viewsonic support, they replaced the base which was broken in shipment for free.

Bottom line: good for the money, especially as a second PC monitor.

Strengths: Superb image quality. Price, price, price
Weaknesses: NA
Summary: 2005-08-15 11:10:59 I bought this TV a week ago at CompUsa for $700. I was a little hesitant due to it's low cost. I needed it for my bedroom, so I didn't quite need the best TV out there. Once I hooked it up (it's very light, and extremely easy to set up), I was very surprised to see that it has a superb image quality, that compares, or even surpasses my other much more expensive LCD TV. I have it hooked up to regular cable, and the reception is good. But where it really excells is at playing DVD's. Just make sure you buy good quality "component video" cables (around $40/$60). The definition and picture quality are great.

Yes, the remote does not have the best ergonomics, but i'll take that anytime for a TV that compares to others $2000 and up.

In summary, you can't beat the price for a very good product.

Strengths: Price, picture quality, setup menus. Multiple input modes including VGA for your PC.
Weaknesses: Remote (not universal) and most other universal remotes do not have codes for it.
Summary: This TV is a real bang for the buck. Great picture quality HDTV, what more can you ask for ? Well... disappointed to find out that the remote control is not supported by any other universal remotes and the remote that comes with it can only control the TV. Had to go buy a Philips learning remote. Luckily, found one for $14 at Target. Was able to program the the learning remote with the TV buttons, now everything works great. Second thing is that Viewsonic will tell you that the only wall mount you can get is a "proprietary" one that they carry for $199. This is not true. Go to mountsandmore.com and get yourself any VESA 200 compatible mount and it will work. I bought the PM1245 for $49.99 and it works great. Can even swivel 15 degrees in all directions.

3 Star ReviewViewsonic has made super computer monistors for ye ...
Strengths: Lightweight, good picture with very acceptable blacks
Weaknesses: Manual, Customer Service
Summary: Viewsonic has made super computer monistors for years so I figured that their TV would not disappoint--and it didn't. I get some light ghosting, which I suspect I could fix if I understand the manual. See the following issues.

The manual was obviously written by a techie and never reviewed by a real human being--it is total techno-speak! The quick start shows a connection to DVI-D, but the manual discusses connecting to AV, S-Video and YCbCr and the inputs include VGA, DVI and YPbPr. However--the manual does not explain the difference between these settings, or how to decide which is best for your setup. Yet it takes three paragraphs to explain how to switch it on! Duh!

Further, there is no help at all if you want to include a cable/satellite box or DVD player or VHS. All the pictures assume you are using an antenna! Does anyone still use rabbit ears?

The real bummer is that when I sent an email to Customer Support (using their website contact form) they never even acknowledged it. I suspect that the Real people in customer support don't understand techno-speak any more than I!

So, I guess if you are comfortable with all these acronyms or subscribe to the "Real men don't read manuals" school of do-it-yourself then this is a nice TV. With the exception of the ghosting I have no complaints about picture quality.

Strengths: Price, ease of use, quality of product and picture
Weaknesses: Menu set up within the monitor not very user friendly, remote control
Summary: Overall a great purchase, especially for the price. I'm used ViewSonic Montiors for about 12 years now, so I was glad to see that they have come out with a good LCD monitor/TV. Great for digital imaging and TV viewing. Perfect for college students or the professional.

Strengths: Great Picture
Weaknesses: Noise in Speakers at Low Volume Levels, Weak Computer Display
Summary: I like the TV -- it has a good reasonable picture, however as a computer display --- Well I think view sonic could have done alot better. There is a humming sound when the monitor volume is turned low. I called tech support and they said it was from the Tranformer that back lights the screen and that this is an issue will all of them... Still a good product, but I would have though they would do a better job at isolating the amp and transformer.... As far as buy again, I have not seen anything else for the price, but you get what you pay for - I'm not returning the screen, but on the other hand, I will not buy a second.

Strengths: sharpness of display ease of controls ease of remote control supports direct pc connection
Weaknesses: pedestal base should be heavier and wider
Summary: This is the best value LCD that also supports direct PC connection. As with other LCD's, the price has dropped the past 6 months. The pixel depth of color is superb. The weight of the unit is lighter than others. I recommend this unit highly

3 Star ReviewViewSonic N2750W 27" LCD TV
Strengths: Nice bright picture when the image is well lite.
Weaknesses: Viewsonic will not provide codes to operate the TV using other remotes like your satellite remote etc. Darker images sometimes appear pixalated.
Summary: I bought my N2750W at Costco for $999 CDN (about $850USD). The unit has a great picture when the image you are viewing is bright. Darkly lite images appear pixelated. The wall mounting accessory is expensive relative to the price of the TV. I paid over two hundred dollars for the wall mounting kit. The biggest negative of this unit is Viewsonics inability to provide or communicate the control codes if they exist for the remote control. You will probably have to use two remote controls to operate this TV. This was a major oversight! This is the first TV I have ever found that can not be controlled by a DTV satellite or Cable TV remote.

Strengths: Price, Design
Weaknesses: Remote
Summary: I recently just purchased this TV because it was one of the few> 23" LCD TVs that I could find at this price. For the $750 I paid for this TV, I am extremely happy with it.

The great thing about this TV too is that it has dual function - TV and monitor, which was another factor I considered in selecting this TV. They do include a monitor cable in the box for this purpose, but not an S-video cable which needs to be purchased separately. Unfortunately, my computer only has an S-video port (and no cable) so I have yet to test its use as a monitor.

However, as a TV, so far I love it. It is just the perfect size for the room, and the picture quality is great.

My only complain would be that I wished I could use my cable converter remote (which is multi-function) for both my cable box and the TV ... however, I've run into problems trying to get my cable remote to recognize the TV when trying to program it in. And the code it listed for Viewsonic didn't seem to work.

Strengths: Nice looks, price, good picture
Weaknesses: No zoom feature, bad remote, manual is a joke
Summary: I use this as a HDTV only. Picture in HD are nice, but not quite as strong as my Panasonic HD set. The lack of a zoom feature is a pain. On all non HD programming-black bars appear on the sides of the screen, and the picture quality in non HD is average at best.

The remote will not work with other remotes however.

The manual is terrible-very basic information included, and I found 3 spelling mistakes on one page.

Also-I had to email viewsonic to tell them they had old specs for this unit on thier own website.

This is a nice looking TV. graet price at only $750. I did a lot of research and decided this was the one for me. So far I am satisfied.
