Strengths: Bright, vivid screen, large hard drive, remote control, 3 USB 2.0 and Firewire
Weaknesses: Awkward Toshiba stabilization utilities may interfere with games/DVD playback, Impressive blue lid scratches easily.
Summary: Toshiba created a powerhouse little brother for those of us who don't need to record DVDs. The screen is bright and excellent (though the first one did have a stuck pixel - right in the center of the screen - more later). The sound is awesome. It's nice to be able to listen to CDs without turning on the whole laptop. Upgrading RAM is a snap. The multimedia remote control is quaint. Toshiba's 4200 RPM HD is very fast and quite compared to larger form-factor notebook hard drives. The cooling system is quiet as well. Toshiba's stabilization software seemed to cause performance issues with games and DVD playback, but Toshiba tech support (website, forum, email and phone) is excellent. It's not hard to disable the utilities. In all, this is an wonderful laptop that turns heads everywhere you go - even those snooty Apple users "Ooo" and "Ahh" over it. You won't regret owning it.
