Strengths: Ease of use and installation without anything extra to buy.
Weaknesses: Bezzle that comes with unit doesn't fit my car without modification and I loose the ability to control "volume" and "next" from factory steering wheel controls.
Summary: I purchased a new 2005 Lincoln Town-Car and wanted to control my Ipod mini from the radio. After months of research I found that there are only four radios that can control the Ipod (dock compatible versions) from the radio they are Apline, Clarion, Kenwood and Pioneer. With the Alpine, Kenwood and Pioneer you need an Ipod adapter box and special versions of their radios to get them to work. The Clarion is the only radio to control the Ipod without any special adapter box. You only need the special interface cable which has the normal Ipod dock connector on one end that connects the Ipod to the radio. In additon the Clarion VRX755VD does not require a "hide-away" box like the Alpine 500IVA310. If you are looking to control an Ipod from the radio, the Clarion VRX755VD is the simpliest to do it. I purchased mine from Cruthfield and highly recommend you start looking there. They have photos and lnks to manuals and other technical info that will help in the decision making process.
