Strengths: Easy to install into a Honda Civic.
Pretty design, relatively easy to use, great clarity
Best car stereo I have ever owned.
Weaknesses: Flashy silver and fancy display might be an invite for theft
Cryptic, confusing manual, equalizer has limited functionality
Summary: I would recommend this.
It is straighforward to install (at least for my Honda, which is a Japanese car and has the same wire colour coding).
I like the flashy pink and blue lights when it comes on. Others might find it tacky. The MP3 tags work better than I had hoped.
I managed to drive 12 hours straight from NC to Detroit listening to 1 mp3 cd that entire time. Only had an issue with 1 song. The mp3 encoding specifications are included in the manual so you can rip your mp3s accordingly.
The removable faceplate is handy, and necessary as this player is quite silver and showy and really stands out in the car. The big "KENWOOD" label screams steal me.
A bit confusing are the RCA jacks on the back. On the box, it says they are Aux RCA stereo input. But elsewhere I read they are outputs. I haven't tried hooking them up yet to something to try them out. The manual is no help here.
The manual grammar badly is written.
And the sound. I looooove the sound. Great sound. Makes me tingle with joy.
