Strengths: FAST, stable platform
Weaknesses: No Bluetooth
Summary: This was an incredible buy for the money! An hour after I unpacked this notebook, I had it up and running with all of the latest Vista (and Office 2003) updates. Acer packs the unit with some bloatware, but since this was my first foray into Vista, the "helper" programs worked their magic—and now I no longer use them. Very fast system response even with the Norton AV 2008 (SE) that comes standard. Best of all, it worked perfectly: onboard camera, touchpad, wireless, multiformat CD/DVD burner--everything. It's even strong enough to be hooked up to a Logitech MX 3200 setup for use as a desktop workhorse. Acer support isn't exactly user friendly in terms of updates, but thankfully, I haven't really needed it yet anyway. Again, this is a great deal!
