wcroswell Member Since: Feb 2008 View Member's: Reviews Product Experience: 7 Days	Marantz SR8002 AV Surround Receiver Strengths: THX sound processing, 125RMS into 7 channels, HD radio, HDMI upconvert, macro programmable controller, audyssey auto-speaker calibration, brillant sound to speakers,lots of autodetection Weaknesses: High Price, no setup display on TV in HDMI mode, fairly large and requires space (8 inches each direction) to not run hot. It is easy to setup , but to realize the true full potential 94pg manual Summary: 2008-03-06 07:52:59 I never realized my speakers could sound so good especially after using the audyssey microphone setup with multiple calibration positions. Even the bad singers on American Idol sounded great! Very brillant, clean sound. Can drive clearly at loud levels with no distortion or clipping. The HD radio is great along with the auto station setup for 60 presets. Also supports XM radio. With 4 HDMI inputs and 2 HDMI outputs you can handle just about anything. The RS232 interface ensures that the receiver can be updated and will have a long function life. The DVD playback was very crisp and clear; currently I am using component input, my new Blu Ray DVD player will arrive next Monday. Weaknesses: Universal remote a little tough to program.. Summary: Awesome piece of equipment. Four HDMI inputs and 125 watts per channel on 7 channels!
