Strengths: convenient central focussing, clear view, water-proof,operated well at dim light, eyecups can be folded to fit my optical eye glasses, Marks allow return to my own tuning selection
Weaknesses: I would rather have a lighter binocular
Summary: We are very pleased with our new Konica Minolta binocular (8x40 wp.fp Activa). We have ordered it 4 days before our trip and received it on the next day. We used it during our 10-days visit to the Monteverde cloud mountain in Costa Rica (Oct. 2005) and were particularly happy with its waterproof performance. During the “Green Season” in the tropics the cloud forest, unlike other rain forests, gets more than 50% of its water horizontally from the cloud rather than vertically from the rain. The binocular operated great during the long fog periods and frequent rains. We were very pleased with the easy switch between watching with and without our optical eyeglasses using the folding soft eyecaps. We have not much experience with other binocular brands but for us it worked great.
