Strengths: The company description is accurrate. High transmission of light. The compass is a neat feature. Waterproof. Focusing is often not needed. Rugged. Floatation neckstrap comfortable.
Weaknesses: Focusing must be done per each lens. Takes some skill to focus efficiently. Requirement for it to be waterproof. One of the cap straps broke after a couple years.
Summary: Great binoculars, even if not for marine use. Virtually everyone that uses these nocs are amazed by the high light transmission, the wide focus depth, (the need for little focusing), the fact they're waterproof, and the compass novelty.

I've always been amazed that I can view varying distances within the viewfinders without focusing.

Focusing, when needed, can be a drag, because each lens requires independent focusing. This is what makes the nocs waterproof.
