Strengths: Fast, OS X is rock solid, beautiful.
Weaknesses: Too Loud, frequent kernel panics, mouse freezes, and you must restart your computer now screens, whirring power supply, not suited for professional audio use, Poor Support.
Summary: This is the second MDD PowerMac that i have, it was a replacement for the first that had many kernel panics, system freezes, and "you must restart your computer now" screens. The computer fan is EXTREMELY loud, sounds like a leaf blower, but that is secondary to the power supply noise that will literally leave the user with a splitting head ache. This machine is not suited to professional audio due to hissing, buzzing and other noise interferences. i have owned many Macs in the past and they have been of superb quality, this machine, however, although fast, does not meet those quality standards. For the premium price, this machine definitely should be absent of the problems noted above. However, in terms of recording DVD, ease of use of the operating system and speed, this is quite a machine, it just obviously needs some more beta testing, and i can't help but feel that i paid to be a beta tester. i would not recommend this computer to anyone under its current imperfections. If you are considering purchasing a PowerMac, wait until January when they should have the kinks ironed out. In addition, all calls to Apple regarding the noise issues are met with denial that this is a problem due to its being such a "fast" machine it "needs" to have all those fans. Definintely don't buy this computer expecting to work in comfort as i am sure it does not conform to acceptable noise standards, nor is it suitable for professional audio.
