Strengths: DVD Creater

Weaknesses: Software (MovieStar 5) continually hangs and absolutely no support from Dazzle (phone, email or web)

Summary: First box had no software key, so had to return as I could not get key from technical support.

Easy to install and use.

Very easy to capture video and audio from old Video 8 format and new Digital camcorders. Edit OK, titling, transitions etc., easy to use and understand. DVD creater (good product) was used to create DVD - all achieved in under 2 hours. However, software crashes continually and there is absolutely zero support. Need to save progress often, which is a real pain.

Could be a good product.

Would recommend with guarded reservations about the software.

Quite expensive for what it delivers.

Documentation consists of over 50 pages describing ...

Strengths: None that I can identify. Too poorly documented to get anywhere with it.

Weaknesses: Horrible documentation, apparently writen by someone who has no clue about writing to a user's perspective.

Summary: Documentation consists of over 50 pages describing the user interface, but scarcely a word about what one would want to *do* with that interface. I was able to capture a simple video, but beyond that I was stumped. Yes, there's an elaborate discussion of the "Edit" interface, complete with colorful screen captures, but not a clue about how to actually edit anything. After several hours of frustration I've given up.

Strengths: Don't know of any yet.

Weaknesses: I bought Dazzell fusion trying to upload my old camcorder tapes to change to digital and guess what it aint working!!! on it

Summary: First of all, since I have XP, I always check for updates. Well the Dazzel site has an update that they say is critical for this program. U downloand the program update that they say is critical and its name is "setup." When u go to install that "setup" a message comes up and states "Corrupt cabinet file" shuts the that installation program down.

I even tried to use a digital camcorder and it did not have anything to do with that. The cardreader on the Dazzle fusion did at least work. Called Dazzle for the 30 free service and the tech said it would propable be two working days when they may get back to me.

I would have looked elsewhere if I would have know this.

What a bummer for $100.00 Maybe upper management ought to try it before they release it and say if is XP qualified!!

Tried to convert old video tapes to MPGs. PC bett ...

Strengths: Great Marketing. Actually - if you need to copy old tapes straight to digital - may be OK. Otherwise - if editing is required -- there HAS to be a better out there...

Weaknesses: Very weak documentation ( 52 page guide ); Functionality is seriously lacking; web site support weak

Summary: Tried to convert old video tapes to MPGs. PC better than min. rq'mts - but still ended up with jerky video. Editing tool marketed as " simple to use" acutally useless for big files. You can either jump in 20 second jumps - or .01 second frames. Painful at best.
