Strengths: Solid all metal bezel, dual tuner with PIP
Weaknesses: heavy, only 2 HDMI inputs, menu takes time to get use to, cheap non backlit remote. no 120hz refresh rate.
Summary: 2008-12-25 06:21:58 I picked it up a local BJ's for just $2499 after having my eyes on it almost a year and a have. I narrowed it down to the Olevia and the ShaRp 65". This unit it's heavy due to the almost entirely metal construction, instead of plastic. It has a dual tuner capable of displaying HD signal simultaneously. The picture looks as good and as any other major model. The only couple of things that I wish Olevia had done better was to include a better designed universal remote with backlit capabilities. My other 42" less expensive, Olevia came with a much better remote. The lack of a third or even a forth HDMI input is plain annoying. It has limited me to plug only my satellite box and my Blu-ray player via HDMI and place my XBOX on component video. The menu interface must be the worst in the TV industry. All Olevias have a funny Roller-Deck like design that takes getting used to. Lastly, Olevia claims a 6 ms response rate, but slight ghosting can be noticed during fast moving images. Overall this TV set is at this price is just too good to ignore. Highly recommended!
