1 Star ReviewTOTAL CRAP
Strengths: NONE
Weaknesses: ALL
Summary: I bought this laptop simply because it was a sony, 5 months after purchase hd quit and optical drive quit, also straight out of the box the right hinge was messed up, it looks horrible with screen light coming through hinge area, after 3 days on the phone with crappy sony service they sent someone out a month later to replace hd, optical drive and hinge. Hinge still looks the same. Now after it's been out of warranty for 2 weeks dvd drive went out again, no matter what I put in it, it say's blank disc, sony service sucks, after another 5 hours messing with them on the phone and several system restores, dvd rom still not working, it will spin up the disc and make a horrible high pitched squeal. We haven't used this thing very much and it has been treated with kid gloves. Very disappointed in sony and since it is 2 weeks out of warranty they want to charge me like a thousand dollars to repair it. Imagine that! a billion dollar company ripped me off for this defective piece of plastic crap, I have video documented my torment and hours with their crappy service since day one, now I'm gonna tape myself smashing this piece of crap out in the street in front of my house and send it to sony along with my ps3 my sony hd tv my sony stereo and cell phone. I SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT A DELL.

3 Star ReviewNeed a cheap vaio?
Strengths: Sony Brand, price
Weaknesses: Cheap looking vaio, processor is slow
Summary: This is one of the cheapest Sony Vaio laptops. You can get it for about $600. I purchased this solely beacuse of Sony name. It is an average laptop with a slow processor. You will need to upgade memory to 2gb.

1 Star ReviewBad purchase
Strengths: Beautiful look and easy to use
Weaknesses: Product Reliability, Customer Service, Battery Life (short)
Summary: My VGN-NR220E/S had a faulty hard drive 28 days after I purchased it, disc failed to eject and their customer service is the worst I have ever received from any company. This was the worst purchase I have ever made, don't put yourself through the aggravation.

Strengths: neat design, light weight for this size of laptop, wi-fi, SD-slot available
Weaknesses: 1gb Ram is a little bit low
Summary: my husband bought this when it's on sale. Wonderfully sony vaio laptop. I used it for a while and like it very much. The weight is not as heavy as I think. wi-fi searching ability seems very strong, at least stronger than my laptop bought 1 1/2 year ago. I can easily use SD slot to upload the pictures, just like what I do when I use my desktop. kind of lazy to get cable to connect camera and PC. Vista Home Premium is with it. So we upgrade from 1gb Ram to 2gb Ram. Now, it runs very smoothly. All in all, this is a great laptop with right price.

Strengths: Great quality sharp screen 15", buildin Wireless, had DVD-RW, and Windows Vista. Great price, very low for Vaio laptop.
Weaknesses: The battery life.
Summary: The wireless Wi-Fi capability is awesome, nice and sharp screen specific to Vaio. SD slot to upload all my pictures in seconds directly from SD card. This computer has iLink port, and 4 USB ports. 160GB hard drive is great considering the price of this laptop and 1GB of memory. Great Sony design. I'm very happy with this purchase and the price.

Strengths: large crisp sharp screen, vivid colors, solid built quality, cheap price. :)
Weaknesses: 1gb memory need to be upgraded, no bluetooth
Summary: Buy this lovely baby several days ago in BB when it's on sale for about $400. Great entry level laptop with Sony brand. Windows Vista Home Premium is with it. So it's a little bit tough for 1gb memory to work with it. I'll upgrade it to 2gb later. Other than that, I am really satisfied with its performance. Highly recommended for low-end user if you can buy it right. :)

Strengths: large crisp sharp screen, vivid colors, solid built quality.
Weaknesses: No bluetooth, no built in camera or built in mic.
Summary: Nice 15.4" laptop with ooutstanding built quality. Although it's the entry level laptop for Sony, they DID NOT cut built qualities. You can tell in every detail. The laptop is plastic, but it doesn't have a cheap feeling that most plastic laptops do. The screen is super nice and sharp, with astonishing colors. Laptop comes with Vista, no problem for me but headsup.

Overall a great buy for a great SONY laptop!!!
