Strengths: Small, Large memory, Sounds Great! No cables!!
Weaknesses: NONE
Summary: What a great little package!! 200+ songs in such a small unit. Sounds Great, comes with a protective case. I had the 256 TX FM and just wanted to up my memory.

I was comparing it to the 1GB N200. I choose this unit even though it's only a tad larger because no cables and the reviews of a "hissing" sound when the backlight is on, on the Micro N200.

Strengths: excellent sound quality, easy to navigate menu, fast, easy fransfer of files
Weaknesses: no playlist support, supports limited number of folders
Summary: I bought this player, after much research. It was the right capacity/price for what I wanted. The earphones are not the best, but they are far above just average. I did buy some higher quality earphones. It is simpler to load music into the MuVo than the instructions would indicate. Once I figured that out, it was fast and easy.

The volume has to be pretty high to get LOUD music though. The FM reception is good as long as you are not enclosed somewhere, or too far from a signal. The FM is an accessory to me, not the main reason I bought this. Battery life is good by my standard. I use rechargable "AAA's" NiMH 750 & 1250 mAh and they last plenty long.

For the $115 I spent for the MuVo, I thought I got a good product.

Strengths: Excellent sound quality. Very light and convenient when exercising. Has a lot of bonus features: Recording, via mic, but also direct from built in FM radio Direct USB 2.0 connection more...
Weaknesses: Battery compartment could be smaller, but still not too bad. Included headphones are kinda crappy. USB connector is a bit short and may not fit easily into all ports.
Summary: Overall, I am very pleased with this product. The sound quality is excellent (> 90 dB) and the unit is one of the lightest on the market. These were the primary reasons I chose it over the other RAM MP3 players. Although the space does not approach the capacity available in hard drive based models, hard drives are notoriously fragile and prone to damage during transport. Also, I really liked that there is no permanent battery affixed to the player. I have heard that permanent batteries deteriorate and require replacement after a few years. According to Creative, the Muvo TX FM can run up to 15 hours on one AAA battery. I invested $9.99 for an energizer battery recharger and $9.99 for 4 AAA high capacity rechargeable energizer batteries (at Target). I haven't used this mp3 player for too long a time at once, so I am unsure what the actual battery duration is. However, running on a rechargeable energizer battery, I have used it for about 4 hours each day for 4 days. I would highly recommend this product if you are looking for a durable, lightweight mp3 player and thumbdrive in one.

Strengths: Compact; MP3 player + Voice Recorder + USB2.0 Flash Storage Drive + FM Radio 4 in 1.
Weaknesses: No rechargeable battery included.
Summary: This MP3 Player is AWESOME! The size alone makes it worth the purchase! I use mine to listen to books downloaded from Audible.com. I currently have 6 books stored on it, each an unabridged recording of at least 10 hours in length, and the drive is only 60% full! Using 1 AAA battery (for 15 hours of power)is much better than having to constantly deal charging a built in battery. The FM radio is great, especially if you belong to a gym where the audio for the TVs is piped thru a radio channel. The LCD is very small, which makes navigating the menu somewhat tedious, but this is the price you pay for the size of the player. If you're looking for a small MP3 player with terrific storage capacity, there is no way you'll regret this purchase.

Strengths: Small, good sound quality, fm radio, recorder, usefull as a usb hardrive without having to carry around an extra usb converter/cable. Easy to use interface, looks good.
Weaknesses: Protective case, and no playlist support. Can make pseudo playlists by having different songs in differnet folders but this has to be done on a comp and can't be done while using the player.
Summary: I really don't like the protective case that comes with this product. It has a belt clip but it covers only the part that houses the battery and not the player part. Which is dumb because you can buy another battery housing for 10 bucks in many differnet colors. But the most important part the player is left unprotected. Tried searching for other holders for this player but found none if someone has please let me know!!!. That is my only true complaint otherwise it is a great player.

Strengths: Small size, battery life, pauses properly for audio books
Weaknesses: Navigation is touchy, it has file/folder limits (see below)
Summary: I bought this to listen to audio books because the reviews here said that it remembers where it was when turned off. This is true and it is a great little player.

The scroll wheel navigation (press to 'click', rotate left/right to move through a menu) is very sensitive and it can be hard to scroll without selecting something by accident. Also, when configuring the settings, it times out after about 5 seconds of no input and returns to the 'play' mode. This is annoying, especially when you first start using it and need to consider the different options presented.

My real reason for this review is to make it known that this player has a 500 file (track) limit that is not mentioned in its documentation anywhere. I had to scour the forums to find out. Since I rip audio books at 48Kbps, there is room enough for several books on this 1GB player. Unfortunately only the first 500 can be 'seen' and played. This limit has been known for at least a year and there is no sign of it being changed with a firmware update. For my audio books it might be worth combining tracks in order to load more books at one time while still keeping within the 500 file limit.

I still like the unit very much, but I am annoyed that I had to discover this on my own. In fact, I just received a second one direct from Creative and the package now says "500 songs".

Strengths: Easy to use and works and sounds great
Weaknesses: Does not work with files using DRM (Digital Rights Management). Need good eyes to see display. Head phones that come with it are not the best. No play lists
Summary: 2005-05-23 04:31:03 This is an update to my original post: Do not buy this player if you intend on downloading music from many of the major digital music sellers (Walmart, BestBuy, Napster, etc.) as this player does not have Digital Rights Management (DRM) and will not play files from the sites noted and many other sites. If you have purchased this player and music from sites using DRM the only thing I have found you can do is burn the music to CDs then rip the CDs back to a wma or mp3 files, once you do that the files will work with this play. I still love the player but would get one that supports DRM at this point.

Previous Review.

When I purchased this I intended on using a pair of Sennheiser PX 100 headphones with it (also highly recommended) so I have not used the ear buds (which I don't like,)with the Sennheiser headphones this thing sounds like your in a concert hall. The prise was great ($130 delivered to my house). Other than the lack of play lists (you can kind of use folders as play lists) it does everything I wanted it to well. I put a 150 songs on it and still have lots of room. Quick setup no need to use any special software (did not install software that came with it), file transfer and maintenance is a breeze in XP. If you are looking for a reasonable prised MP3 player put this one on your short list.

Strengths: small, lightweight, plenty of storage for size, fm radio allows for all the presets you want, carrying case is a plus (armband is adjustable and of good quality),
Weaknesses: battery cover appears to be very thin and could break easily, software is a nightmare, accompanying manual is vague & incomplete, recorder is ok but has a hissing sound if nothing is being played
Summary: My first mp3 player and I must say I really enjoy the entertainment it provides. Customer service IMHO is lacking and it does take you some time to become acquainted with the player. Three control buttons that perform multifuctional tasks that once you get accustomed to becomes second nature. First time I have ever used ear plugs and the plugs that come with the player are quite uncomfortable, replaced them with some shure e3c's and they really make the player "SING" and are VERY comfortable!!!! Creative website has forums you can get help from but they are not monitored frequently by their staff. Telephone support is not 1-800... once you understand the folder system it is very efficient...can get a little over 9 hrs. playing time with a rechargeable AAA NIMH and thats with the options set relatively high (contrast, backlight, etc...) I have once concern and I have visited with creative, the earphone jack that plugs into the player sometimes doesn't make a good connection (I have isolated the problem to be the player and not the earphones)...doesn't happened all the time, but I am going to RMA it and they don't have a problem with that...Have since found out that you can replace the half of the unit that contains the battery cover for $10...I would not hesitated in buying another...very solid product!!

Strengths: small size, EQ, battery life,
Weaknesses: headphones that come with it are useless
Summary: did some research and you can't beat the size and the USB connectivity. No software or cables needed. Doubles easily as a USB flash drive. I use it to put data files and MP3's. No problems what so ever. Although the IPOD shuffle does have the rechargeable battery over this, but the options and the handy "inver the display" and possible customizations on this make the MUVO TX FM a keeper.

I highly recommend this product.

Strengths: Small Size, FM Ability, Voice Recording Ability, Battery Life
Weaknesses: Buzzing noise when backlight is on.
Summary: Overall this is a great MP3 Player. I currently have an iPod mini but since I bought the MUVO, I tend to use it much much more. You will not be dissapointed with this purchase. I suggest it to those who like to work out and live a busy lifestyle. So light is fits right into your pocket or you can use an arm strap. Awesome.

Strengths: support multi-language
Weaknesses: N/A
Summary:

The thing I like most is it support 15 languages: The Muvo can display the menus in English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Danish (I am from Denmark, so - Thank You Creative Labs!), Norwegian, Swedish, Finnish, Dutch, Chinese, Japanese and what I think is another Asian language and Arabic.

Strengths: Great sound quality! Easy to copy files from computer and no specific software is required. Can also work as a flash drive. The constrols are very easy to use. Cannot be more happy with it!
Weaknesses: The LCD is very small. I hope it is bigger so that I can see more contents. The ear plug coming with the player is just so so. Maybe you want to buy a better ear plug.
Summary: It is a little machine with pretty strong functions and great sound quality. The LCD makes it better choice than a 1G Shuffle. Moreover, the voice recording function is very cool. Overall, I like this MP3 Player a lot!

Strengths: small, easy to carry
Weaknesses: the red shell
Summary: Muvo is an excellent product. I own the 512MB Muvo and am upgrading to the 1GB one. It's also very competitively priced. The strong point is that it's very small and sturdy. However, it lacks a player support list and also has a very small LCD screen.

1 Star Reviewcreative muvo txfm mp3 player
Strengths: Good sound
Weaknesses: Small readout and also, I havent been able to install it on my computer yet.
Summary: I bought this unit a day and a half ago and it still hasn't installed on my system. I have a fairly new system running Windows XP but for some reason it won't show up in the "My computer" folder which means I cannot access it to put songs on it. I thought I got a defect until I plugged it into my 1998 Dell running Windows Me. and it showed up fine in "My computer" so I was able to put a few songs on it for now until I hear from Creative customer care about why I am having a problem with my newer computer. I thought I would put this here cause when I was shopping for and mp3 player I never read a review that had this problem in it. But go to forums.creative.com... and run a search for "connection problems" and about 50 posts come up siting the same problem. I'd give it a 4 star rating if it wasn't for the installation problems which have yet to be resolved. The headache it has caused me deserves a "completely unsatisfactory rating."
