Strengths: Recharging base station, optical, coordless
Weaknesses: NONE
Summary: Definitely the best mouse I have ever used. It is very comfortable, and also very good looking. With the internet navigation buttons (which can easily be reprogrammed to be, such as I have, copy and paste) this mouse definitely has great flexibility. What I like is how the "click" sound when the buttons are pressed has been nearly silenced. After millions of clicks, that gets annoying.

You can also program a button to be a double-click button. This means no more double-clicking! ;)

Very highly reccamended by me.

Strengths: Wireless,Stylish looks,Recharger,Great tracking,
Weaknesses: Logitech Drivers,Righthanded only,
Summary: First off the mouse it self looks awesome with a great black and silver colour scheme and curves ;) the left and right mouse buttons are built in the base of the mouse but it is very natural when clicking them it dosen’t feel forced like some do.

It has 8 programmable buttons left and right click, the wheel button and two buttons above and below the wheel incase you don’t want to use the wheel to scroll. Near to the middle is the application switch button which acts like the ctrl-alt-tab shortcut to move between programs. To the left are the thumb buttons which by default are the back and forward buttons (handy in the web) 

The first time you get it you will have to recharge the battery’s which takes about 2 hours (if your using the included receiver). Then when charged it’s just a matter of pressing the connect button on the receiver and the connect button on the mouse windows xp came up with detected and it was working fine a very easy setup.

The mx700’s receiver doubles as a charger which is handy to place the mouse on at night and let it charge back up to full. The included batterys on average lasted me around 2 and a half days of course your milage may vary on what you do. They can be easily replaced if needed.

Personally I didn’t like the Logitech drivers they were not perfect for games esp with setting up buttons. If you was using this more for gaming I’d recommend to stick with the default ones that windows installs. But if you use this for work a lot you may like the additional functions the drivers provide (programmable buttons)

I’ve tested this in many game like twitch speed fps and ones where you need to use accuracy more and it passed with flying colours I honestly coulden’t believe this was wireless it’s tracking is very accurate and very responsive. Also you get the benefit of not having a cable tugging on the end of the mouse.

There are only some minor problems I see with this mouse. One is that when the mouse isn’t been used it goes into power saving mode and there can be a very slight delay when moving the mouse for it to use full power again but this is really minor.

Also by using the default windows drives you will lose some functionality of the mouse but I’d first recommend trying the windows drivers and then the Logitech to see which you like more. And last is that this mouse is only for right handers (being left handed myself writing)and glad ;) I can know what a big pain this is for them not to support the rest of the market, I use my right hand for mouses but it would still be nice to see a version for left handers.

The added weight of the battery’s will make it heavier than your average mouse, some might like the added weight I find it helps my accuracy.

it has replaced my wired mouse permenantly it’s great in games and also great for general desktop use. And it comes with rechargeables so you never have to worry about buying battery’s again ;)

Overall the mx700 features great looks accurate tracking and built in recharger. Its non perfect drivers let it down slightly also there should be a lefthanded version but other than that i fully reccommend the mx700 best wireless mouse i've used so far.

Strengths: Cordless/optical. Very percise. Lots of buttons. Glides very smoothly over the desk surface.
Weaknesses: Logitech drivers.
Summary: While it is true that the drivers don't work well in games, you can simply program the mouse buttons to keyboard function key. This will allow you to use all the buttons in gaming.

Also, Logitech will correct this issue in upcoming driver release.

Strengths: Great feel and response. Buttons are easily accessable and the wheel turns like Proud Mary! Battery charging is a snap.
Weaknesses: So far, none.
Summary: Love the invisible single and right clickers & auto scroll buttons. Also happily own a Logitech trackball, so I'm sold on the Logitech technology. I work in graphics and word processing and both the trackball and MX700 work very well, no matter what kind of work I'm doing.

I am a Mac owner since 1987, so I've known good and bad mice. This new baby is the best so far.

2 Star ReviewThe main problem I have with this mouse has to do ...
Strengths: Cool Design. Fits fine in hand. Many programmable buttons.
Weaknesses: Connection with charger base does not always connect.
Summary: The main problem I have with this mouse has to do with charging it. Phyisical connection with the base is difficult. I have to move the mouse with precision to find the right spot where it actually charges. Even a single move on my desk and the connection is lost.

Strengths: Great tracking no matter what the first review said i think he needs to stop eating the mushrooms that grow in his backyard
Weaknesses: None that i really see. i've gotten it to work from 20 feet away. well maybe the drivers the 9.70 don't let the wheel work and the 9.75 don't let the other buttons work so use 9.70 and TweakUI
Summary: Great mouse i didn't like the batteries so i replaced them and i get 2 days before i ever get half way down on the batteries not heavy as others seem to think i think its a great mouse

Strengths: Speed and sleek appearance. Battery charger integrated with receiver.
Weaknesses: none
Summary: Excellent mouse with an eye-catching look! Rechargeable batteries, multiple buttons and ease of use are most prominent features. A nice touch is the 'unseen' left and right buttons and they have a great tactile feel. It is well worth the price. Kudos to Logitech.

Strengths: Comfortable in my hand!
Weaknesses: None so far!
Summary: Wow, what a fantastic mouse! I went from corded, to cordless with a ball, to now optical. I wanted the best as I was tired of messing around with lesser quality mice. This is FANTASTIC! Fast! Comfortable! Self-charging! Programmable buttons! Goodbye wires, goodbye mousepad, goodbye alcohol swabs, hello freedom! I think it's very lightweight in comparison with generic mice, and compared to Microsoft products. Fits my hand like a glove. The 2-minute installation was a breeze. Thank you, Logitech, for an awesome product!

Strengths: Excellent response, wireless of course which is a great plus, sleek design, well placed buttons (with one exception)
Weaknesses: None-some may say the price but I picked it up for 49.99 on sale at Office Max
Summary: Best mouse I've had and the first jump I made to wireless, has not let me down yet, the first problem I ever had (which was simple to rectify) was I suddenly noticed a jitter in the movement. Turns out when I hooked up my new 5.1 logitech speakers one of them was too close to the base. So I pulled a user error by not paying attention. I moved my charger base about 5 inches above where it was and regained excellent response. I play all my games from Unreal Tournament 2003, Jedi Knight, Battlefield 1942/Road to Rome/Desert combat on this sucker with no lag in response. Works like a dream and unlike others I've managed to have all the buttons work for me on games. Also good advice that you do NOT want to install the drivers on the CD logitech supplies. I heard it screws it royal. When I first bought the mouse I hooked it up to my comp that was running Mellinium and it installed all the buttons automatic minus the switch programs one. (which I never use anyways) But on XP it installed them all perfectly from its own database of drivers. So your good to go without worrying with install their supplied disc. Highly recommended.

Strengths: Comfortable, thumb buttons, wireless, base/charger
Weaknesses: Silver finish wears off on left & right buttons
Summary: 2005-07-28 15:27:27 This is the best mouse purchase that I have had to date. I've had this mouse for about a year and two months. It is very comfortable and the thumb buttons are a great feature for browsing and gaming. The battery life lasts about a week of normal usage or about two weeks with light usage, which I believe is acceptable considering the fast wireless communication.

As a gamer, the extra buttons allow extra shortcuts/keybindings for gaming. The cruise control buttons at the top and bottom of the scrollwheel cannot be reconfigured in some games however. The response time is more than acceptable for fps games.

A small downside is that the weight of the mouse may cause stress on the hand. It depends on the user, but for me it did a little. Another downside is that after having using the mouse for over a year, the silver finish for the left and right mouse buttons have worn off. Also, I rarely use the quickswitch button at the bottom of the scrollwheel because it is hard to reach.

Overall, I am very pleased with this mouse and I believe that it will be reliable for years to come.

Strengths: Ergonomic design, recharging station, battery life, wireless response, tracking accuracy & extra buttons.
Weaknesses: Price. Righty only. Not available as a combo with an ergonomic keyboard. Set up. Keep base station away from other devices. I found incoming calls on my cell phone threw the mouse's tracking off.
Summary: 2005-11-19 01:50:52 As my entree into the world of wireless input devices, I'd have to say I'm pretty happy. I was originally in the market for a ergonomic keyboard/mouse combo, but I couldn't find a set that came with a fully featured mouse. All the wireless options, MS or Logitech, came with standard 3 button mice. I think the MS Bluetooth came with what I was looking for but was way out of my price range, & the reviews weren't inspiring confidence. Seeing as my current keyboard wire wasn't bothering me, I opted to stick with that & invest my $$$ in the MX700. Installation went fine. I was a bit baffled by how they expect you to use the mouse to install the software when the mouse itself is not yet installed. I used keyboard shortcuts and that worked fine. I assume you could leave your old PS2 mouse connected, or if I had experimented I might have found that the mouse was functioning, just not with all its features. Either way, I'm not reading any other complaints, so I assume I just overcomplicated the issue. The software came with a bunch of extras. I assume most people will be satisfied with a bare minimum install or downloading the most recent drivers from Logitech. I went for the whole mess, played the games for a little while and ultimately ended up disabling most everything but the basic driver software. I found the default settings a bit to snappy for my taste, but adjusted them easily to my liking. So far, HAPPY with my purchase!

1 Star ReviewI read alot of good things about this mouse and be ...
Strengths: charger built-into receiver base, 8-buttons, cool look, smooth scrolling wheel
Weaknesses: weak battery life, incompatible drivers, bad-tracking, doesn't work well on light-colored surfaces
Summary: 2002-12-20 00:07:01 I read alot of good things about this mouse and believed the hype so I bought one. However, I have been GREATLY disappointed and will be returning this for the MS Intellimouse Explorer Wireless.

The tracking on this rodent is TERRIBLE!! I returned my first unit thinking it might have been a defect but the same thing occurs with my second unit and this one will be going back too. When you move the mouse slowly, it gets "jittery" in place which is really annoying when you are trying to do accurate & slow movements like in drawing.

In addition, the Logitech drivers are horrible and actually render many of the extra buttons on the mouse useless in a number of applications. I've read many reviews saying that this is a common problem and that Logitech is working on it. If you do buy this mouse, you are better off not installing the Logitech drivers as most of the buttons work fine natively in Windows XP.

Well, tomorrow, I'll be exchanging this for the Microsoft mouse which will be mostly likely more functional (MS hardware+MS software=no software compatiblity quirks)and accurate, ie, no jittering when moving slowly.

Strengths: Very smooth and accurate. It fits well in your hand, and has great features
Weaknesses: A little heavy
Summary: I just purcahsed this mouse the other day and hooked it up. I play alot of FPS type games and this mouse ROCKS!!! I have had no response problems or any problems with the functionality of the extra buttons. This mouse is far better than the wired optical mouse that I was using in both feel and accuarcy. I didn't install the inclosed software suite after reading other reviews on how it was not up to snuff. I may check the Logitech website and see if they have an updated version. I highly recommend this mouse to anyone who is in the market for a new mouse. It is a little high in price, but it is well worth the extra money.
