- WiFi N (Intel 4965AGN)
- Bluetooth
- Weight
Weaknesses: - Ethernet (Marvell Yukon)
- Layout of power and external monitor connectors
Summary: I can not believe that I got this notebook for only $600. Most notebook computers in this price range are using slower cpu (not even C2D). Of course, I have to upgrade the memory, but it only costed me extra $25. This notebook is pretty portable even it comes with a 15.4" screen. It is not heavy at all. The screen is really good. The built-in bluetooth is a big plus if you have bluetooth enabled devices, like cell phone, headset, mouse, and keyboard.
I am not a gamer so the integrated video card (Intel X3100) does not bother me at all. However, I do not know why Sony did not use Intel or Broadcom chip set for the Ethernet. The power cord is located next to the dvd recorder. It blocked the dvd tray when I opened it several times. The external monitor connector is in the middle of left side. I guess Sony assumes people will use HDMI connector, which is more close to the screen at the back, but it is not on my notebook.
Overall, I am happy with this purchase and would recommend any one who wants a portable computer with a good screen size and decent performance.
