Strengths: Great controls and graphics, many different suits to choose from
Weaknesses: escort missions can be hard sometimes
Summary: Gundam: Federation vs. Zeon is a third person shooting game for the PS/2. Although there are a lot of Gundam games already up there, this is one of the more enjoyable games you'll find. You are soldier in a war between the Federation and the Zeonic Front. There are three game play mode you can choose from: Versus mode, Arcade mode, and Campaign mode. In Versus mode, you pick a Mobile Suit and the fight against three other computer controlled robots. Arcade mode has you choose between several different Federation or Zeonic suits that each have different armor types and weapons. Once you've selected a robot, you pick one for ground battles and one to fight in space and then select a level to fight through with several missions in the area. The type of robot that you choose is very important because certain weapons work better in space than others so choose carefully. Your suits also have melee weapons like swords or fists but it is sometimes hard to gauge the distance to successfully strike your opponents. Campaign mode plays a little differently than Arcade mode. You begin with a huge map with many dots that represent mission areas. When the dots flash, you can play that mission. You start with the weakest suit but as you win more missions, you can access the bigger and better equipped suits. The missions range from killing every enemy in the area to escort missions where you have to protect your forces from enemy attacks. Overall, this is a great game and I highly recommend buying it.
