Strengths: Very fast, Lots of memory, big hard drive, excellent display.
Weaknesses: No built in floppy drive
Summary: We bought 2 of these to replace our older 1.06Ghz Pentium III notebooks from another manufacturer. We were impressed with the memory (512MB) and Hard Drive (60Gb) capacity compared to similar units from other manufacturers. Most systems that fit into this price ($2000-$2100) range came equipped with a Pentium 4-M at 1.7-1.8Ghz, 30-40Gb drive and only 128-256Mb or RAM. The nVidia GeForce2Go chipset, 512Mb DDR Memory and 60Gb Hard drive, combined with the Mobile Pentium 4 at 2.0Ghz provide plenty of performance and an amazing amount of battery life. Typical run times have been between 3.5 and 4.5 hours - we have not made extensive use of the DVD drive while on battery only - and the system's SpeedStep brings the CPU speed back up nearly to 2Ghz almost immediately when the CPU is called upon. We are planning to buy more laptops from Toshiba when the need for additional laptops arise.
