Strengths: This product improved cooling of the northbrige and the southbridge chip using the fan and big heatsink, over OEM on my Gigabyte 7VAXP board for an improvement from 40 to 36 deg.C. after burn-in.
Weaknesses: The Iceberq fan could benefit from a taller, improved heatsink on its base for better cooling of the northbridge chip, but this could prevent it's use on video cards.
Summary: 2004-07-21 11:19:53 After an extremely easy, factory looking, install of the Iceberq kit, I immediately noticed a 2 deg.drop in motherboard temp. - an improvement which also pulled the processor temp. down 2deg.C to 58 deg.C.

I then installed Vantec's new 'Aeroflow' socket A processor heatsink with TMD fan on the 1800+ XP Athlon. WOW!!!

***NOTE*** I used ARCTIC SILVER 3 thermal compound on the northbridge/fan and on the processor/cooler and the supplied thermal adhesive tape on the southbrige/heatsink.

I got more than I expected, it was easy to install these kits, and even though my system is loaded and crowded the processor temp. went down from 60 deg. C. to 34 deg.C. after burn-in, and remained there even though I overclocked the system to 1.7 Gigahertz - the speed of a 2100+ XP, and it is completely stable at this speed using 1 GB. of hardcorecooling.com DDR 433 CL 2.0 CAS 2.0 "INSANE DEAL", and an ATI RADEON 9500 PRO AGP card -not mentioning my PCI cards on a "Palomino that hasn't had it's multiplier unlocked or a voltage increase.

I highly recommend the Vantec Iceberq and suggest to purchase the Vantec Aeroflow to fully realize the benefits. The people at Vantec have really done their homework, these two products look great, have a long life rating, are quiet by comparison to OEM, and do their job extremely well.

***Update 7/21/04***

All my Vantec componets (Aeroflow, CCB-A1C, and CCB-A4C) continue to operate flawlessly and quietly 24/7.

I have been using the 3000 XP O'clocked and the ATI 9500 Pro O'clocked to a 9700 Pro for some time now.
