Strengths: looks cool, sounds good
Weaknesses: Cd-loader breaks easily
Summary: I will confirm that the cd-loader does break. It's really pathetic. I don't know if the product simply was untested, or the system was designed to fail, but the cd-loader simply wears out. It would have been a terrible gift for your boss. If you bought it for someone, try to get them to listen to the radio more often... it'll extend the life of the cd loader long enough so you can quit before you get fired.

Strengths: Cool design, efficient with space, good sound
Weaknesses: Complex top-loading CD player breaks easily, consistently
Summary: Since my product broke--just after the warranty expired, I've researched and found that this is a recurring problem with the CMT-EX5. The top-loading mechanism and CD player, while cool looking, is complex and prone to breaking. The repair shop gave me a quote just by looking at the box. That's how often this model has had problems. Sony will not admit to this, however. Read the online reviews that are out there. It's uncanny how many people have had this product break just after one year, and Sony doesn't seem to care.
