Strengths: Expandable, no telephone jack needed
Weaknesses: Battery is garbage
Summary: I've owned many Panasonic phones and the biggest problem with them is the lousy NiCd battery that ships with the units. This phone was no exception. I immediately changed it to a NiMH in anticipation of the memory effect problems I knew would come. So far, this phone has been great. It was easy to synchronize with the base and it has not interfered with my wireless network. Voice quality is excellent, as is the range. They are difficult to find at good prices, but keep your eyes peeled for clearance pricing.

Strengths: No need for phone jack
Good range
Clear
Weaknesses: 2.4GHz is a bit dated
Summary: I love my expandable Panasonic phone. I already had an extra handset for a room without a phone jack, but when a cheaper phone in another room finally bit the dust, I needed a replacement. I considered getting another phone to plug into the electrical socket AND the phone jack, but decided to go with one of these for a bit more flexibility in putting it on the other side of the room.
The phone itself is the usual Panasonic quality: conversations are crisp and clear. Interface is intuitive. I can be in the yard with it. If you have a Panasonic expandable set that could use this handset, I'm sure you wouldn't be disappointed.

Strengths: Excellent range and voice clarity, lots of features
Weaknesses: NiCd battery
Summary: I've had the base station and a single handset for over a year. I've been very satisfied with the unit and I ordered 2 more handsets. I get great reception even around electronics. You can conference with muliple handsets, monitor the handsets or base station, and call and talk with the handsets or base station. It has caller ID, full-duplex speaker phone on the handset, and programmable numbers. The only weak point is the NiCd batteries. They have relatively short life and can develop memory. When the OEM battery on my first unit died, I built my own battery with 3 AA NiMh's and the hardware from the old battery. The low-battery warning doesn't work, but the battery life is significantly improved. This is also MUCH cheaper than Panasonic's replacement battery. Try it at your own risk!

Strengths: All the features I wanted and more.
Weaknesses: Phone uses too much battery power, I wish it had a lithium battery instead of nHcd or a faster charging time.
Summary: Speakerphone and mute on handset are features I always wanted. I also use my 2nd handset as a baby monitor sometimes. It has many other features as well. All these features come at the cost of inconvenience as far as needing to constantly charge the battery. Panasonic should have made the charging quicker and/or giver the more powerful lithium batteries like with cellular phones. Panasonic told me the phones use extra power as they get further from the base and when in speaker and booster modes. One of the reasons I got an extra handset is so I can use it when my other one's battery dies. Another plus (that some phones dont have) is that you can use the base speakerphone and the handset near each other without getting noise feedback (unless you have handset on speakerphone mode). I live in an apartment so I didnt test out its range.

Strengths: Excellent sound quality, intercom system is a great plus, generally strong overall performer
Weaknesses: TERRIBLE NiCd battery, not possible to initiate a speakerphone intercom call, 2.4 GHz perhaps dated (and may interfere with your WiFi)
Summary: I'm with the others who give this a strong rating outside of the unfortunate problems with the battery -- plan on buying a NiMH battery and you won't be disappointed with the inevitable memory problems. (We have five handsets and have replaced the batteries on each and every one of them twice -- once with another NiCd, and the second time with NiMH.)
We have a large house and constantly use the intercom feature, a real godsend.
One problem I do have is that it's just not possible to broadcast a new phone book number to all other phones in your system, nor to replace the phone books in all the other phones. There is a means for doing this but you can't replace existing numbers -- you have to go to each phone to edit them individually.
The antenna is fairly long, which makes this unit difficult to manage in bed.
Replacement units are getting harder to find -- I suppose this means Panasonic wants you to buy the newer models.

Strengths: lightweight, big buttons, and good reception
Weaknesses: no fashion colors
Summary: this is a nice durable and typical use handset - good for families or a heavy user like me. I recommend this if you need a standard everyday type handset for your busy family.

Strengths: Expandable, no telephone jack needed.
Weaknesses: Poor, inconsisdent battery life.
Summary: It is my third handset. I love the features of this phone but the batteries that come with it make it unusable. The phone will tell you there is plenty of battery left and ...; right in the middle of a phone call it goes dead. With better batteries, this would be a five star phone easily. Make sure to add $$ to the price of this phone because that's what you'll spend on a workable battery.

Strengths: Capability of listening to messages from handset. The caller ID is great. The last number redial is convenient. If you lose it, like I often do, it's easily found from paging at the base.
Weaknesses: I wish it had more than 50 saved numbers capability.
Summary: 2007-04-12 17:20:17 I love this phone. I'm ordering two more before they stop production on it. It has been the best phone I have ever owned. Period. I have never had a problem with the functionality or the battery after years of owning it. I like the intercom system ability so we're not yelling from room to room. I use the pager/beeper function all the time because it always gets lost. Last number redial holds the last 5 numbers called. The keypad illuminates so you can dial in the dark or TV only lit room. It's put up with alot of abuse from my three year old and even been left out in the rain and it still works! It's been the best phone we have ever owned and I would highly recommend it.

Strengths: good reception
Weaknesses: buttons smallmaking them hard to see
Summary: We have owned several of these telephone handsets for years and these are additional units. we use them for a small business. We are very satisfied with the long distance reception and clear comunication provided. They will allow us to gooo from building to building and outside quite a distance. The battery strenght is very good. They will last most days without a recharge.

Strengths: NA
Weaknesses: NA
Summary: This phone works well with the 2700 base unit and associated system -- clear sound, good volume on both headset and with speakerphone. Occasionally noted slight interferrence issues (possibly from running two WIFI networks). Interferrence is very brief, and only a very minor annoyance.

Strengths: good looks cool touse with other base unit
Weaknesses: price
Summary: considering that this item is an extension for another base unit the price should be lower. The manunfacturer should take into consideration when they price these out. Otherwise its a great idea and unit.
