Strengths: Reliable and compact with a 3-cd changer and looks good with its clean contemporary lines.
Weaknesses: None except normal wear and tear -- the belts that operate the cd changer finally wore out after 4 years.
Summary: In October 2003, I purchased a Sony CMT-EP707 Desktop Micro System at a local Circuit City. In the intervening years this Sony product performed flawlessly while looking good with its clean contemporary lines and materials (simulates stainless steel and light stained wood). Although compact, I particularly liked the fact that I could load and play 3 cds at a time.
By January 2008,the CD changer was going on the blink. Although the Sony was now 4 years old, I took it to my local electronics repair shop in an attempt to keep it going but to no avail -- the replacement belts were not available.
Then I decided to replace my old Sony with the exact same model but discovered much to my horror that the local big box electronic stores no longer carried the CMT-EP707. That's when I decided to make a last ditch effort by locating the Sony on-line.
Much to my surprise, I found what I was looking for at pricegrabber.com and placed an order post haste.
Thank you pricegrabber for helping me locate a Sony CMT-EP 707 which may not be the latest model but as far as I'm concerned is the Sony with a proven track record.
