Strengths: The keyboard works OK and has an acceptable range (about 5-6 feet without major obstacles). Keyboard has an acceptable battery life too.
Weaknesses: A lot of them. See comments below.
Summary: 2004-07-09 12:46:54 While the wireless keyboard works OK, the rechargable wireless optical mouse has a ton of problems. To name a few, the rechargable mouse doesn't charge all the time. So you often end up with a "dead" mouse even if you leave it on the charger overnight. The mouse also has a EXTREMELY POOR range. It only works within 2-3 feet of the receiver WITHOUT ANY OBSTACLES. Furthermore, the optical sensor on the mouse often can't detect movement. So you can move your mouse any way you want and the pointer on the screen just sits there. Last but not least, the mouse goes into "power save" mode too fast ans too often. So you constantly have to "wake up" the mouse in order to use it. I tried to contact technical support from Memorex about the inferior mouse, and I was told that "It's normal. They are all like that." So I gave up and bought myself a "lo-gi-tec" one and this one has no problem so far. In conclusion. The Memorex RF6000 has a extremely poorly made mouse which should not be marketed in the first place. I am very disappointed about the product.

Strengths: keyboard works well
Weaknesses: mouse works intermittently. sleeps the instant you stop moving it, so you have a lag everytime you start. tech support says "this is the design of the mouse"
Summary: This is an incredibly poorly designed product. The mouse, as described above, constantly stops responding. To wake it up, you can either jiggle it around, or press a mouse button. Problem is, if the pointer was on a button or link or file or whatever, you will click on it automatically. This is EXTREMELY ANNOYING. I have a logitech brand cordless mouse on the same desk which works without any problems whatsoever. Furthermore, when I contacted memorex tech support about the problem, they told me that it was designed to work that way. I don't know what they're thinking, it's essentially unusable. If you like using a mouse, then maybe you don't want to buy this product. The keyboard is nice, though
