Strengths: Price and image sharpness
Weaknesses: None so far
Summary: Solid 17" LCD with a very sharp picture. Has built in speakers

and ample cable length. I've bought three and will buy more if needed.

Strengths: price,image quality, easy installation
Weaknesses: none
Summary: I purchased the Sceptre DCL 7A Black 17" LCD Monitor for my wife's computer to replace a old 17" crt monitor. The difference in image quality is amazing. The brightness and contrast controls offer sufficient range to allow customazation for individual preferences.

The monitor was easy to install and didn't contain any dead pixels, the price was right and I am considering replacing my 19" crt with with a second LCD.

Strengths: Price, performance, scan time....
Weaknesses: nothing really stands out...
Summary: 4 stars only because this is my first LCD purchase so nothing to really compare it to, but this is the one of the cheapest 17" LCD's I could find and so far I couldn't be more happy with it. If you compare other 17" LCD's with the same specs as far as contrast, scan time, resolution etc.. this is by far the best deal! The picture is great and there is great range of adjustment for brightness and contrast (I've heard others complain about LCD's being too bright). I don't do much gaming or anything but its had no problem keeping up with any graphics or video I've thrown at it so far. The built in speakers are a good feature if you just need the basic windows sound effects, but are are kind of weak for music and stuff...

Overall, I'd say if you are like I was and just looking to go to finally make the switch to LCD without breaking the bank, this is definitly the monitor for you!

Strengths: Price, brightness, image quality.
Weaknesses: Text is a little fuzzy.
Summary: Not bad for the money, although text is a little tough to see. I might be a little picky because this monitor is replacing a high-end 19" CRT. Microsoft.com has a program downloadable call ClearType tuning that helps some with the text. The auto-adjust works VERY well. The speakers are functional.
