Strengths: Easy set up - great color - alot of options
Weaknesses: Alittle steep at $499 but feel it has all the up-to-date technology
Summary: 2008-01-23 17:26:41 I got a Sony Bravia 720 for Christmas along with a Toshiba HD DVD recorder. I opted for the 720 only due to price - Once I heard that movie makers were backing Blu-Ray, I returned the Tobisha and was going to get the Sony Blu-Ray but it was sold out. Best Buy suggested this model saying that it is the newest Blu-Ray out and especially notated the "film maker vision". The clarity on this dvd is great - I don't have many blu-ray disc yet but notice a great difference even on my present collection. Ofcourse the first movie I put in was Pirates At World's End - the picture is unbelieveable and I don't even have a 1080 set, I could only imagine how much better it looks on a 1080, but I am extremely satisfied with the quality, clarity, sound of this blu-ray technology. I really didn't expect much with the HD but now see why everyone is talking about and purchasing - and I am glad I jumped on the band wagon. The purchase included 5 free movies - not too many that would appear to a female but thank God they did have Pirates of the Caribbean Black Pearl as one of the choices which saves you $25 right off the bat. I found this dvd recorder very easy to install (and I'm blonde). I used the monster cables and it was quick and easy. . It includes an SD slot for memory cards which I think is great for photos and look forward to utilizing the features for camcorder and photo capabilities.
I think it was pretty expensive but feel that this purchase is a sound one with the latest technology so I don't have to worry if I have to upgrade quickly. I would recommend it
