Strengths: 16 inch screen.
Wireless Keyboard.
Sufficient ports.
Weaknesses: Weight.
Placement of CD-ROM button.
Speakers.
Summary: The Satellite 1955-S801 is a very beautiful notebook, very fast for a nonmobile Pentium 4 processor 2.2Ghz. The use of black, blue, and gray colors makes this computer sleek, just as good looking as a SONY Vaio. The 16-inch screen is big, colorful, and clear. Has enough ports to make this notebook a real DESKTOP replacement. The wireless notebooks works well, even from eight feet away. The keys are thin and feel very balanced. Gripes. One thing I noticed about this computer was the weight and size. It is heavy due to it's large screen. When used on your lap, the weight of the screen tends to keep this notebook unbalanced; though, there is enough hand/arm rest to support this notebook. The speakers are not that great. Wish they had added a subwoofer like in their other models. The open button for the ROM drive is very hard to locate. It almost feels like it doesn't exist. Should've placed the button on top edge of notebook, instead of on the side. Other than that, I would recommend this notebook to anyone looking for a replacement.
