Strengths: High-quality sound from satellite speakers, strong bass from subwoofer. Good connectivity options with multiple video sources. Support for optical sound cabling.
Weaknesses: None, really. An excellent value for the money!
Summary: This is a terrific system for a small room or TV setup. It also makes a wonderful sound system companion for an XBOX, as it supports optical sound cabling from the XBOX's Advanced AV Pack so that you can hear fantastic 6-channel sound output from XBOX games. The satellite speakers are well matched and produce very clean and clear sound, and the 100-watt powered subwoofer supplies the necessary oomph if you're watching a DVD movie like Saving Private Ryan. If you're a first-time buyer, this is a great system to buy to get started with home theater, with a lot of bang for the buck. It supports 5+1 Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro Logic and dts sound playback, so you can get a nice surround-sound effect from your VHS tapes as well as DVDs. It's easy to set up, and it's simpler to use than a VCR. Good stuff!
