Summary: Turn the volume down to zero and there is this weird chirping that happens every 5 seconds. It is 4 quick chirps almost like a distant dot matrix printer printing on paper. Very irritating. If you don't play the music loud enough you'll hear it. Whenever the music gets low you here these irritating chirps. You have to unplug the suckers when you are not playing music! Don't bother trying to use the headphone plug because the static out of that is much worse.

 This speaker system is a good system for those who ... Strengths: Very affordable speaker system, portable and lightweight. Good for those with small systems or laptop computers.
Weaknesses: Sound quality is not as good as other speaker systems. No distortion however.
Summary: This speaker system is a good system for those who need simply a very basic speaker. It is very affordable as well as small and lightweight. For the price it cannot be beat. The sound is clear and has good treble. It however does not have very good bass, but again if you are just needing basic sound for not playing music this is your speaker.

Strengths: Powered by USB, compact, cheap, headphones jack, lightweight.
Weaknesses: Can not go too loud, clipping occurs at high volumes.
Summary: My first impression of these speakers was that they looked cool. They are black with a blue power LED, and they just look cool. A very nice feature was that they can be powered by a USB port, so that keeps one more power brick off my power strip. They are pretty small, and they weigh very little. Finally, there is a jack for headphones on the front, so you don't have to crawl under your desk with a flashlight to plug in headphones. As for sound, I was presantly suprised. For USB powered speakers, they definitely get loud enough, and as long as you don't leave the room they are in, they will provide enough volume. There is no deep bass on these speakers, but unlike other speakers I have owned, they don't sound horrible when you listen to music with bass. When you turn them up to max volume, if you are listening to a very loud song, it sounds like it is clipping, but it sounds fine at a reasonable volume. I also noticed a small buzzing noise if I turned the volume all the way down, but if the volume is up, even with nothing playing, it goes away. I would probably not recommend these if you want to listen to a lot of music, then I would recommend speakers with a subwoofer, but these speakers are fine for anything else.

Weaknesses: Performance is too bad, especially the ear phone
Summary: It works, and for $6, you can't expect too much. When using the ear phone jack, there are always low frequency noise. And the sound is too weak. I will not recommand it even though it is cheap.

Strengths: Cheap, nice looking.
Weaknesses: Pick up radio waves.
Summary: After a $5 rebate, I would have paid $1.30 for these
speakers, including shipping. For that price, there
is very little to complain about...
I expect to use the speakers for editing home movies,
so the sound quality is not my main concern.
For all I can tell, the sound quality is decent.
The speakers emit a weird sound when no music is
played on them, which means that I'll have to keep them
off when not in use. I attribute the sound to radio waves,
but I am probably mistaken.
In short, for the price, I'm happy with what I've got.

Strengths: very light, not expensive
Weaknesses: none
Summary: The delivery was super fast, only 3 days with a free shipping! The speakers look nice! They are very light weight and not expensive at all. The instructions were a little confusing because did not mention anything about plugging in the speakers to the "speakers out", but only plugging them to the USB.

Power coming from the USB for these speakers means ...
Strengths: Saving space.
Weaknesses: The power light is little too bright.
Summary: Power coming from the USB for these speakers means there is one less clunky plug I have to find room for on the power strip. The sound is fair. I have no problems with humming or picking up static. The blue power light is very bright and attractive, but a little too bright.

Weaknesses: Headphone jack distortion
Summary: The headphones emit odd sounds when they are in use. Even if you turn the volume all the way down you still hear the noise. I assume it's the jack due to the fact that three pairs of headphones all sound this distorted. Not too shabby for the price that i paid for them. However, the main reason i bought these was for easier access to headphones as my old speakers did not have one.

Strengths: Very low cost, usb powered, headset plug
Weaknesses: Pick up noise and base not good.
Summary: I like the price very much. Don't expect a full featured speakers out of this price. But it offers usb power and a headphone plug. The USB power will be on/off in sync with our PC, so I don't have to power it on/off separately. Good for a lazy person like me.

Strengths: Cheap, provides good enough sound for ten bucks. You can't ask for very much from a speaker that costs as much as a lunch.
Weaknesses: You pay for what you get for. Compared to other speakers of equal value it is fine.
Summary: All and all I am pleased with this purchase. Friom the front it looks like it might even be a flat panel speaker. It isn't but the appearance is nice.

Strengths: I think this speaker is quite a good shape and looks good. looks like a vintage speaker.
Weaknesses: This speaker has a little bit weak sound but good for price.
Summary: 2004-09-22 12:30:09 Best points :looks good and sound quality is better than I thought. quite reasonable price and rebate.
I recommend you to buy this one if you are not a higher user of technology.
