Strengths: Great sound. Best deal on speakers you'll find.
Weaknesses: Not very pretty... Need to buy an extra 1/8 inch to RCA cord to use them with your PC.
Summary: I purchased these speakers for $30 on sale at Target, and bought a similar $40 set of logitech speakers on the same day. I took them both home to listen to the difference. The altec lansings blew the logitech speakers out of the water. The sound is really great, especially for the price. Also, these speakers give you a great deal of control over the amount of bass you get out of the subwoofer. The sub has its own knob to adjust the maximum amount of bass to your preference, and there are three presets on the little remote control to quickly adjust the bass to whatever type of audio you happen to be listening to. There are also 2 headphone jacks on the remote for easy access. I highly recommend these speakers. You can't beat the sound for anywhere near the price.

Strengths: Very good sound. Both treble and bass
Weaknesses: Lack of adapter for PC, non shielded sub-woofer
Summary: After reading many reviews, I chose to go with this system. I was prepared for the lack of an adapter, so got them hooked up right away (easy buy at the local Radio Shack).
The sound is very impressive for a $30 set of speakers! They sound much better than my son's fancy boom box which did not make him happy.
Hook-up only took 5 mins since the instructions were very clear. Other than the Flash Gordon styling, the lack of shielding, and the missing adapter, they are a good buy.

Strengths: Great sound, Excellent Bass, Durable build, Cranks out
Weaknesses: Too many wires and cords if the Subwoofer needs to be put in the open.
Summary: These speakers are awesome. Cranks way louder than I can handle and still sounds good. If you love a lot of bass for a good price, these are the speakers for you. I have to turn the bass down for my liking. I attached these speakers to my DVD player and use them for watching movies and listening to CD's and MP3's. You will not need an expensive home theater system or receiver and amp. The only drawback I can see for some is that there are alot of cords and wires. I put my sub and everything behind the TV to keep them hidden, works great for me. The only thing I see is the two small speakers. Also the remote is not wireless, which is no big deal for me because I use the DVD players remote to change volume during movies.

Strengths: excellent sound, fairly compact, adjustable speaker stands
Weaknesses: lots of wires, doesn't include headphone jack wire
Summary: Bought this to use in my garage and was very surprised at the quality of sound. Other reviews are accurate, lots of wires and does get a bit messy. Corded remote control is nice, but would be better if it was baked into one of the speakers. For the price (17.99 on buy.com) it was really hard to beat.

Strengths: *Sound great.
*Inexpensive.
*Funky looking - cool.
*Wired volume control has two headphone ports.
*Comes with cables to connect to TV or video game console.
Weaknesses: Does not come with a cable to connect to computer
Summary: I purchased these speakers to accompany my DVD/TV setup - and was totally impressed with the sound quality. Crystal clear sound quality - plus absolute wicked bass! Prepare to be blasted away when you turn on the subwoofer - wow, the sound is incredible! I can't believe I paid under $50 for these speakers!
I now use them to plug my ipod into - the sound is amazing! While the design of the speakers is unique - they compliment any high tech setup. the only small qualm I have with the speakers is that it would be better if the remote control was actually 'remote' and not attached to the speakers by a cord. I know - it's lazy of me - but we live in a lazy world!
Overall, you can't beat the price - the speakers are worth at least 3 times what they are being sold for, it's a steal!

Strengths: Definitely one of the coolest looking speaker systems around.
Weaknesses: Really meant for gaming systems only.
Summary: These speakers look great and have adequate sound to back that up. They were manufactured to be used for gaming systems though, so they are probably not the best speakers to get for PCs. For the price though (I paid $20 before rebate), they are definately a steal!

Strengths: Wonderful sound. Looks great in just about any environment. The difference in the style is just enough to make it very unique.
Weaknesses: The cables and connectors could be just a litte bit longer.
Summary: Overall these are awsome speakers. If you are a gamer the clairty of these speakers will just about blow you away. Looks great in just about any environment. The difference in the style is just enough to make it very unique.

Strengths: Great bass. Very good sound quality. Cool looks.
Weaknesses: lottsa cords to get tangled up.
Summary: This is an exellent sound system for the money. We got it for $30 on a deal so, its worth every penny. It highly supasses all our tests. We hooked ours up to our laptop so it works great with computers as well as tv's. The only downfall is that this thing has tons of cord that are hard to keep from tangling up. I would highly recommend this system.

Strengths: Great apartment speaker
Weaknesses: The remote control is not wireless
Summary: I bought this speaker in Christimas. The price I got is $29.99 in Target. The total quality is good. You even can find there are plastic caps for each plug. Because I am living in an apartment, I don't want my speakers shake whole apartment build like my neighbor did. So this speaker is perfect for my need and the sound quality is good. If you like 5.1 speaker, you can find its sibling product.

Strengths: sound quality
Weaknesses: too many wires. Need to buy and auxilary wire connection to use it for your pc
Summary: Bought it for my 6 yr olds computer I was building. The bass speaker looks like a bomb and he is into those types of games. The speaker grills are removable so they can be painted to match the PC's color. Sound is awesome and price is really good.

Strengths: Great Bass Sound, Very Powerful for computer use.
Weaknesses: Style is a bit "modern" looking for my tastes.
Summary: This is a really great sounding set of speakers for the money! I can't believe how great the sound is from a set that cost me so little, as I expected to pay 3 times or more this amount. No interference detected from nearby computer or other equipment. Great handheld control unit that is easy to use. Easy hookup.

Summary: I bought this system in Buy.com, the low price there beats other dealers. That's one of the reason for me to buy this system, only $19.99 including shipping. What a deal! And when i got it, I tried it with my PS2 game system and also connected it with my Lap-top, the quality of sound is amazing! I can't find any other speakers with lower price and greater sound quality than Altec Lansing XA 3021 Speaker System! That's one of my best deals during the holiday shopping season!

Strengths: Great sound! Great price (less than 30$)! Cool looks!

Summary: This thing is great speaker, i purchased them for 30$, and what i can say is WOW! this thing offer one of the best sound avaible, and for cheap price.. but too many wires though, the remote should be wireless, but that is ok, this thing is already great :D

Strengths: Great design, reasonably priced, very decent treble and bass
Weaknesses: Too many wires out of the unit
Summary: At first sight this thing looks more like a space ship than a set of speakers. Looks can be deceiving...I actually enjoy this set. It's very reasonably priced and with great sound to match. Although it looks like it was designed more towards video game consoles it can still work with PCs w/o any issues.
The only disadvantage I see is that there is too many wires all over the place with this unit. If the unit can operate without looking all cluttered it would earn my extra star.
Overall it is a good value and anyone who wants a decent speaker set this should be top on your shopping list.

Strengths: Excellent clear sound unique design.highly recommended.
Weaknesses: havn't seen any so far...
Summary: these speakers are the best I've seen so far within the 20-40 dollar price range. it delivers clear sound with real good base. the best part of these speakers is the way they have been designed - the best so far when talking in terms of price. I'm listening to them right now.still the best. highly recommended..don't think twice just buy them trust me they are worth every penny..and you can mount them any way you want to...enjoy!!!!!!!!!!
