Sony S710A Cell Phone

Excellent Phone!

Strengths: Ergonomic design; its ruggedness (I have droped it many times); its Features & Functionality incl MP3 player, 1.3 camera; ease of operation; the Sony online services!

Weaknesses: The only thing I find a nuisance is the connector for the headset– which I use to listen to music. It falls out easily. I agree with the other reviewers that the OS is a bit slower.

Summary: I purchased this phone almost a year ago – and I must say this is the best cell phone I have ever owned! It is very easy to operate, lots of features – incl the MP3 player, the camera (which has nice features as well!), etc. The speaker is far superior to my husbands Motorola or my oldest daughters Nokia. The best part of this phone is the design - With this swivel design, I can easily hold and operate the phone, even with carpal tunnel problems.

My youngest daughter, a college freshman at BU, opted for this phone over the MOTORIZR – which surprised me. She liked all the features – and has seen me abuse this phone till you’d think it would die! The Sony 710a is very rugged and durable. I highly recommend it.

My favorite cellphone all-time

Strengths: Looks, functionality, endless features, great display, awesome sounding mp3 player/ringer, very durable

Weaknesses: Slight lag on the OS, limited memory, low max-volume when using included headphones, display will scratch if not protected.

Summary: This is the first phone that I actually want to buy a back-up copy of just in case I somehow accidentally destroy this one. I've owned it over a year and have dropped the thing more than I care to remember. Let me start with a cost-saving feature - you can click and drag mp3 files onto the included Duo memory stick. Besides sounding great as a portable mp3 player (I set it on my bathroom sink to listen to when in the shower), the SE710a also uses these files as ringtones! I can't begin to tell you how many times I've thrown hot new songs on there FREE of charge. Believe me, my carrier has lost out on a bundle considering how much other people spend on new ringtones. You can do the same with jpg files- use some for caller ID and others for wallpapers and screensavers. The screen's display is better than anything anyone else at the office has on their phone. The camera/camcorder funtions very well, expecially so when you consider the fact that the large display becomes your viewfinder and operates horizontally. I use a bluetooth headset with this unit and have no complaints. I also pair it with my PDA (with BT or IR) and laptop for easy file-swapping. The way the unit opens jack-knife style never fails to elicit oohs and ahs from friends and strangers alike. The 710a also has a handy organizer and features internet access. If having a phone that looks better than your buddy's Motorola flip and sounds better than your dad's corny Nokia, this is where you want to be.

Great Phone, Tons of features

Strengths: More features than I can handle. Great Phone!!!

Weaknesses: Slightly laggy OS, nothing else

Summary: HOT Phone! Great Design. All I get are compliments except for the very few uneducated/unfashionable people who I easily convinced into liking it by showing them just a few of the features, I highly recommend this phone, but you guys don't need to buy it so I will be one of the few with this great phone! Just Kidding.

Plus features including bluetooth, infrared, large screen, 32 mb internal memory plus up to 128 expandable (comes with 32 expandable memory stick duo), MP3 ringers/player, mp4 video recording/playback, 1.3 mp camera, Loud ringers, music composer, theme customizable, comes with usb adaptor for memory stick duo for easy transferring of pictures/songs/themes/videos plus MANY MORE I CAN'T REMEMBER

Neg features I could see were a slightly slow OS and expandable memory is limited to 128mb because it is a duo and not a duo pro. Nothing else bad I can think of.

WOW

Strengths: The phone itself, programs, extras, game capacity, memory, headphones, CAMERA.

Weaknesses: Screen on outside and battery life.

Summary: I absolutely LOVE this phone, i can't imagine any phone beating this on in the near future, not even that cheap motorola one they have out. So many features and cool things all in the palm of my hand, great for a limited ammount of MP3's for the music lover who does not need an Ipod. I expanded mine to the 128 duo. ;)All my friends want to steal this badboy from me.....Gosh...i could go on and on..i am actually looking for a used one right now, to replace mine....i am alil rough on this phone, i drop all the time, but i don't get many scuffs, this phone is super sturdy and all around one of the best phones that i have had the pleasure to own. SONY ERICSSON is the furture :) I recommend checking out the unofficial Sony Ericsson website, and the actual Sony Ericsson website, for free games and extras...
