Strengths: These speakers flat out scream!!! they are (individually) louder than my THX certified surround sound speakers... and they sound better also.
Weaknesses: It appears that the mounting flange on the speaker would have to have the corners filed down to fit inside of the grill that came with it. Not a big deal.
Summary: Like I said above, these speakers output very crisp, clean treble, and can get very very loud without distorting.
Not much for bass, but you would have to be stupid to expect bass from 4 inch speakers.
Technically speaking I bought the Infinity Kappa 42.7i, not the Kappa 42.5i (the speaker that I am writing this review for), but I would assume that they would be nearly identical.
These speakers are going into my '89 single cab Toyota pickup, and hopefully they will fit in the stock locations underneath the dash (the guy at the stereo store told me they would).
So, in my opinion what these speakers are, are huge, high-quality tweeters that will pump out more treble than you can shake a stick at, and absolutely no bass.
