Strengths: Worked right out of the box. Quiet.
Weaknesses: As is normal, 250 GB hard drive loses about 10% to formatting so real useable capacity is less. This is true with all drives of this type.
Summary: I was really impressed with the fact that it worked right out of the box. Nothing to do other than plug it in. While I had seen a couple of reviews indicating that this drive was noisy, it seems very quiet to me.

Good value for the price.

Strengths: Fast, Sleek, Quiet
Weaknesses: None so far
Summary: I had never really heard of this company, and was a bit skeptical when I ordered the drive. However, I have had absolutely no problems with this drive whatsoever. It is fast, looks nice, doesn't take up much room and is very quiet. I have also taken this drive with me out of town, and it packs easy and weathers the travel. I would certainly recommend this drive to anyone.

Strengths: very quiet, fast, easy to use
Weaknesses: can get warm (wouldn't be a problem, except you know it's a hard drive in there), ready light could be a little brighter - drive is so quiet i can rarely tell it's still on
Summary: good, fast drive with plenty of backup/download space. regular external drive (no one-touch backup button, but im not into that kind of thing anyway). backwards compatible with usb1 if necessary. my drive read as a maxtor, a company ive have reasonable success with, so i feel okay with puting information on there.

Strengths: Fast, nice aluminum case and design, quality appearance... no problems so far (3 months of continuous use)... Excellent value for money..
Weaknesses: None that I can think of...
Summary: Fantom seems to be making headway in marketing reliable, well designed drives.. I just bought my third Fantom (500GB MegaDisk) and I'm optimistic it will also be a winner..

Strengths: Great for system backup
Weaknesses: Only 2Mb buffer
Summary: Great drive and great price. With two HDD crashes it's always time to back things up and this drive makes things easy.Drive also has a pretty good looking enclosure not as bland or cheap looking as other comparably priced external drives.

Strengths: Ease of Use, Convenience, Sleek Looking, Great Value
Weaknesses: The HD may NOT display the correct amount of memory used.
Summary: Even a dummy or lazy person can use this external hard drive. If one wants great value for ease of use in a external hard drive this is it. The external HD works on Macintosh and on the PC via USB 2.0 or earlier.

1 Star ReviewTitanium 250GB External Hard Drive (USB 2.0, 7200 RPM, 2MB)
Strengths: Nice Case
Weaknesses: Died after two days of use.
Summary: Worked well for two days, then started to shut down/lose power spontaneously and repeatedly during use or while idling. Probably bad luck, but I'll buy another brand for a replacement.

Strengths: Quick, Reliable, Easy to Use
Weaknesses: The switch to turn it on is in the rear and is sometimes difficult to find
Summary: No complaints. It works exactly the way I expected it to. It is fast, reliable (I have had no problems with losing any data), easy to use and is handsomely designed.

Strengths: not too hot, fast
Weaknesses: nothing comes to mind
Summary: This drive has worked great for me, I store all my torrent files on there and regularly seed large amounts of files, and this drive has always performed well. I play music a lot too and I store my entire music library on there and it has never lagged. I've had it for 1.5 years and no problems.

1 Star ReviewFantom Drives
Strengths: None
Weaknesses: Unreliable
Summary: I purchased a Fantom Titanium 300GB USB External Drive 1/29/06.

Drive crashed 1/20/07. Because I kept fiddling with it, trying to revive it, until 2/5/07 company would not consider repairing it, citing the expiration date of 12 month warranty.

Local techs tell me that bearings are out and boot sector is now missing. I only backed up files 2 0r 3 times in 11 months. It was a piece of junk. Buy Fantom drives at your own risk!!
