Strengths: Stability, price, AMD
Weaknesses: None
Summary: I've had this processor for almost 5 years now. Never needed to replace it out. I currently have it overclocked to 2GHz equal to a AMD Athlon XP 2900. Still has met most gaming requirements. Runs a lot smoother compared to my wife's AMD Duron 1.2GHz processor.

Strengths: Very Stable, even at overclock speeds
Weaknesses: haven't found it yet
Summary: The only other review on this processor is negative. After reading the last guys review, if I was looking at buying a processor, I would steer clear of this one. BUT, I've owned this same processor for a year and a half, and I have a different oppinion of it. #1, yes , there are way faster processors out there now, and you shouldn't expect miracles. That being said, this has been a 100% rock solid performer for me since day 1. My processor has never had a problem running at it's advertised speed(opposing the last guy's post). If it doesn't run fast enough for you, the "tweaking" isn't the bother it sounds like in the last review. The reason I bought it in the first place is because of the MANY reviews I read on how easy it was to squeeze more out of it for the money. Mine has been running as an Athlon XP 2700+(2.16 GHZ) flawlessly for over a year. If your Motherboard even mildly supports overclocking, yours can run at the same speed as mine. Set the FSB at 333 instead of 266, set the vcore to 1.6-1.625 v, and leave the other defaults alone. Magically, you have a 2700+. Not even a real overclock, but has worked great for me. Long review, but the short of it is that this processor is worth buying. Look around at other reviews; most of them are thumbs up. It has my thumbs up.

2 Star ReviewFOR NON GAMERS I had hoped this upgrade would p ...
Strengths: AMD stability, price , better value than Intel
Weaknesses: Does not perform better than my 950 Athlon or my 1.3 Duron
Summary: FOR NON GAMERS

I had hoped this upgrade would put my nForce2 board at a level worthy of claims. Although the Soltek 75FRN-L board runs flawlessly (1 year) and is better made than price comparable Soyo's (2 weeks) and Biostar's (6 months), this chip is disappointing. Using XP's diagnostics, reveal this chip is performing at less than rated speed. I have nor the time nor the patience to "tweek" crap. If this chip requires tweeking then it's claims are FALSE. Which leads me to believe that, on Tuesdays, after the rain, when the moon has just past some time line in some third world terrorist country that has no drugs or oil to export, this chip WILL SHINE. The change in FSB, from the older chip (1), did not have any improvement. If you have a stable AMD chip and are feeling a new one will make your pc experience that much more enjoyable, don't buy this one. Spend A LOT more and get maybe 10% "visual" performance.

Bill's box: Soltek 75FRNL MOBO, Radeon 9200 64MB, Maxtor9 80GB 8MB buffer, 512DDR, "lotsafans", MSXPPro w/all updates
