Strengths: sounds great, cd quality from an ipod with the integration kit. The mp3 player has a wider range than previous years, certain MP3s that played distorted in my 5500MP play clear in this cd player

Weaknesses: only displays 7 letters of the ipod file

Summary: sounds great, pioneer has yet to disapoint me, have the ipod integration kit, also works great but only displays the first 7 letters of each song and folder. The ipod kit sounds much better than my girlfriends alpin ipod kit, we both spent around 200 on our cd players and 120 for the integration kits and the pioneer sounds noticibly better than the alpin, I was very suprised because alpin tends to be higher quality than pioneer. I have owned 3 pioneer head units over the last 7 years and they all sound as good as they did new, and havn't had any problems with any of them, would only but pioneer.

Stereo is awesome.

Strengths: Killer look, Great add on abilities (iPod, Satellite, AUX), optional subwoofer, remote, detachable face, sound quality, OEL display. Well labled wires for self installation.

Weaknesses: No case for the detachable face which can be a smidge tricky to put on.

Summary: I bought this stereo after doing a lot of research to get a stereo that had an iPod AUX function. Not only does this stereo have a simple red/white optional cable for an iPod hookup(CDRB-10), you can buy a true iPod connector for about $100 bucks, and a satellite receiver for about $100 bucks. I love the way the stereo looks in my dashboard, and the sound is terrific. I have it hooked up through a Sony amp and my factory speakers and it sounds terrific. The ipod function through the simple red/white optional connection cable I bought for 23 bucks here sounds terrific. Unit is easy to use, and cranks on volume. Very satisfied.

I would reccomend to anyone who is looking to expa ...

Strengths: High pass x-over, retractable volume knob, remote control, 2 preamp outputs, lots of power 22 x 4 rms.

Weaknesses: Does not have a soft turn on so if you turn off car and player is at high volume you could blow speakers when turning back on.

Summary: I would reccomend to anyone who is looking to expand into some subs as well as aftermarket speakers with an amp. For anyone else it might be a little overkill unless you want great looks because it has EL lighting. Mp3 feature also saves you from having a ton of CD's floating around your car. Overall a very good purchase.

Pioneer DEH-P6700MP - an average car CD player

Strengths: - Cool OEL display - Easy to access functions - Remote control

Weaknesses: - No great sound quality

Summary: I wasnt as excited after installing this CD receiver as I was before buying it. The quality of sound isnt all that great with my factory speakers. Infact, the quality of sound was better with the factory speakers than with this receiver which was a huge let down. However, the OEL display is pretty cool especially at night and the fact that this unit displays the CD title is very helpful.
