3 Star Reviewa little tough but enjoyable
Strengths: touch screen gameplay, courses and graphics
Weaknesses: touch screen gameplay, putting
Summary: The touch screen is nicely used in this game, although it could be more refined. It takes some getting used to and I have yet to figure out how to putt well. The number of courses is very nice and it retains much of the console system features. I personally thought the graphics were quite good, although I am used to the game boy advance games. Its better than the reviews say, but its a long way from perfect.

Strengths: 8 different courses
Weaknesses: Graphics could be better
Summary: Tiger Woods PGA Tour is the first and only golf game for the DS. You choose one of eight courses and go out onto the holes trying to get the lowest score possible. The dual screens are used well with a swing meter and the action on the other screen. The graphics are blocky and not detailed but that is a minor complaint. If you like golf, Tiger Woods PGA Tour is a good choice.

3 Star ReviewTigger Woods PGA Tour 2005 review
Strengths: You use the touchscreen to hit the golf ball and it has ok 3-D graphics.
Weaknesses: You can't play it while in motion
Summary: This is my first golf game I have ever boughten and I am alsmost satisfied. What I found unique about this game is you use the touch screen to hit the ball. The only promblem is you need to have a steady hand, so you can't really play it if you're in motion (walking, car etc). In the touchscreen there is a curved arrow in which you need to follow through with your stylus to hit the ball. Depending on how much you follow through with your stylus in the arrow 0-100%. The top screen tells you how much strength to use (xx%) using the arrow.

The top screen may tell you the golf ball will reach to point B from point A if you use 100% strength. Even if you give 100% strength it doesn't always reach to point B.

Not much of music, but you could hear when the club makes contact with the golf ball.

You cutomize your character stats depending how much money you make.

Overall, if you like golf games and if you find it cheap pick it up. If neither of those two happen to be you don't pick it up.

3 Star ReviewGolf on the DS!!!!
Strengths: Courses, graphics
Weaknesses: Putting, sound
Summary: This is a good game for the DS, but nothing outstanding. I feel the graphics are decent, considering its a handheld. They have a nice selection of courses, eight total. The use of the touch screen is nice, but could use some tweaks. In the audio department, the game is lacking. Also I found the putting game hard, talking 2-4 puts to get it in the hole. Overall though, this game can become addicting and fun.

2 Star ReviewShould be better
Strengths: Touchscreen gameplay
Weaknesses: Bad graphics
Summary: This game allows you to use the stylus to touch the screen to control the position and the strength when playing. The graphics are not that decent as a DS game. Especially when on the green, it is impossible to tell the height around the hole. Suggest to rend it.

3 Star ReviewWoods DS needs one more year
Strengths: Good Game of Golf
Weaknesses: Poor graphics, high learning curve.
Summary: Tiger Woods DS is a pretty good game of golf. Most of the options from the big brother game of Woods 05 have came down to its handheld counterpart. You can create your own golfer and you can play through a career. Creating your own golfer is not nearly as funs as it is on Gamecube because of the limited options. The touch screen controls are difficult to learn, but once you do there is an enjoyable game here.

Strengths: Graphics, Use of touch screen
Weaknesses: None
Summary: Tiger Woods Golf make great use of the stylus and touch screen. The game is well designed and has excellent graphics which allows the user to really have an immersive experience. While there are not many sounds in the game as far as music and the occasional claps, the sound when you actually hit the ball is amazing! Makes you really feel as if you're playing golf. The camera can be a bit quirky and the controls offer a challenge to get used to at first, but once you master the them your experience and love of the title will grow.

Strengths: Gameplay, Graphics
Weaknesses: None, Really
Summary: This game was actually really fun. With the stylus it makes the gameplay much more interactive. You kind of actually feel like you're playing golf. Everything is very realistic, and the graphics are decent, EXCELLENT for a handheld system. Pick this one up.

3 Star ReviewTiger Woods. Single handedly, Tiger has made golf ...
Strengths: Good control using the touchscreen, fully customizable player and upgradeable stats, long play time (lots of tournaments), plenty of unlockable players and courses, ability to save your game at any ti
Weaknesses: Multiple carts required for multiplayer, bland graphics, almost no sound, limited unique animations
Summary: Tiger Woods. Single handedly, Tiger has made golf cool. Now after winning foour Masters tournaments, he’s definitely reached legendary status. And in similar fashion, so has his games. Tiger Woods PGA Golf has ruled the video game golf scene, particular for simulation based golf fans (arguably Mario Golf and Hot Shot’s Golf are also excellent arcade golf games). Now Tiger has made the jump to the DS. So how has this mini-Tiger turned out?

Basically, all the basic trappings you come to expect from Tiger Woods PGA Golf are present. Build your character up in RPG fashion by winning tournaments and earning money? Check. Design your glfer from head to toe with the physical features and clothes that you want? Check. Play through increasingly difficult tournaments on a variety of golf courses against famous golfers, old and new, including Mr. Woods himself? Double check. So where does it differ?

The most obvious difference is the control scheme. To hit the ball, since there is no analog stick on the DS, and the click twice on the accuracy/power bar has been relagated to “arcade” golf games, Tiger Woods PGA Golf for the DS utilizes the Touchscreen to hit the ball. This actually is quite intuitive. Stroke the stylus along the path and your accuracy and speed will translate to how you hit the ball. End up to the left or right and you may slice the shot. Don’t go fast enough and you’ll hit with less power. It’s incredibly easy to pick up and play. At times it isn’t as accurate as one would like, goin too fast may not register a shot at all, but it does a good job of using the touchscreen to simulate a skilled golf shot. You can also control the spin of the ball by brushing the screen after the shot to change the spin direction and speed.

The graphics are passable, but there are a lot of repeated animations. And all the player seem to animate the same during certain situations. Hit a birdie and you get the same aniimation whether you’re playing your own character, Tiger Woods or Jack Nicklaus. That just doesn’t seem right. Colors are also a little on the dull side, and a little washed out. In addition, the sound is just about non-existent. Four rotating songs on the main title screen, and pretty much silence during the game absent a few chirping birds, the sound of your club hitting the ball, and some occassional polite clapping for a good shot.

The bottom line is that if you like golf, or at least video golf, you’ll like this game, regardles of some of its short comings. It’s pretty long, as I’ve played it for about 24 hours of collective time (it keeps track in your file) and still haven’t completed all the tounrmanets yet (only 80% complete according to my file). Although my character is maxed out on all stats already, so there isn’t much point except to unlock a few additional players and maybe one more course. Multiplaye ris nifty, as everyone plays through at the same time, not having to wait for each other to take a shot, so these games move fast. However, again, EA requires each playe rto have his/her own cart for multiplayer, which is somewhat of a drag. But for the single player game, it’s slightly more than par for the course, and should be picked up by any golf (video golf) fan. Or if you just really like Tiger.
